Barter HelenBARTER, Helen Shepherd –  Peacefully on September 12th, 2018 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Helen, born in Aberdeen, Scotland, is predeceased by her loving husband Charlie of 62 years, her sons Ian and Roderick, her grandson Dean Barter and her great granddaughter Mia DuHasky.

She is survived by her three daughters Shielah DuHasky (the late Les), Beth Barton (Phil) and Bonnie Barter.

Cherished grandmother of Alissa DuHasky-Niemela (David), Andrew DuHasky (Cori), Steven Barton (Leslie), Jennifer Barton (Paul Smale), Brian Barton, Robert Barter (Danielle) and Lori Barter.

Helen loved being a great grandmother to Christopher, Emily & Rebecca Niemela, Bella & Lily DuHasky, Lucas & Clara Barton, Peyton & Nicholas Smale, Josie & Georgie Barter, Izaiah Dove, Lily Dove and Hudson Barter-Smith.

She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and in-laws in Canada and Scotland. Helen’s family is grateful for the excellent care that she received at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, 7th floor C-Wing.

Visitation will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL , 110 Dundas Street East in Whitby on Saturday, September 15th 2018 from 1 - 2pm with a service to follow at 2pm.

Inurnment to follow at GROVESIDE CEMETERY.

Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Lakeridge Health Foundation, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or the CHARITY of your choice would be appreciated by her family.
