LAMERS, Herb - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Herb on Sunday, November 4th, 2018, at the age of 83, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Herb was the devoted husband of Nell for 60 years.
Proud father of Yvonne Lamers (Marcel Brossi) & Sandra Lamers (Gerard Johnson)
Adored grandfather/opa of SheaMacInally& Alexandre Lavoie.
Dear brother of Ben (Mia), Walter, Marty (Marion), Tony (Jackie), the late John (Mia), the late Henk (Annie), Thea, (Lambert), Annie (Lawrence),Correy, (Adrian) Nellie Lamers, Betsey (Omer) and brother in law of Mary Jessome (Ron) Grace Morton (Kevan).
Herb will be lovingly remembered by all of his nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Herb was the proud owner of Rundle Garden Centre and founder of King West Garden Centre. He was a fiery Dutchman who revelled in working hard and enjoying life.
Herb adored his family and was a friend to all who knew him. He was never without a joke and took every opportunity to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Please join with the family to share memories during visitation at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St E. Oshawa, Ontario on Friday, November 9th from 2 - 4pm and 7 - 9pm. A funeral service to celebrate Herb’s life will take place at the funeral home chapel on Saturday November 10th at 12 noon.
A private interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
