LOVERIDGE, Walter  - Tyrone, Ontario on January 16, 2019, in his 96th year.

Walter was predeceased by his loving wife May Loveridge in 2013, after 56 years of marriage.

He is survived by daughter Joy and husband Kris Vaneyk; son Charles and wife Leslie Loveridge; Grandchildren: Angela Vaneyk (Garreth Wigmore), Sarah Vaneyk (John Ralston), Dennis Loveridge and Allison Loveridge.

Born in England in 1923 to parents Frederick and Gertrude Loveridge, Walter was the 7th child in the family of 13.

He is survived by his sisters Grace Strawbridge, Pearl Curtis, Connie (Norman) Case, and sister-In-Law’s Sylvia Loveridge & June Trewin and brother-In-Law Cliff Trewin.

Predeceased by his Brothers Bill, Cecil, Fred, Vic, Noel, Lisle and sisters Eve, Iris, and Letitia. Walter is remembered by a supportive extended family of many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Being a young English farmer during WWII, Walter enlisted with the Home Guard when he was 18, serving his country for 3 years and 8 months. Most of this duty was on guard at the Cliffs of Eype, near Bridport along the English Channel.

Walter immigrated to Canada in 1950 as an agricultural worker. He was soon introduced to a life in General Motors, where he retired after a 31 year career, and has been retired for 37 years.

During working and retirement years he continued his passion for agriculture by raising Beef Cattle and making hay. After retiring from farming, Walter took pleasure in feeding the village with an abundance of vegetables he grew in his garden, until he suffered a severe stroke in 2017, at the age of 94.

Friends and Family may visit at Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville on Friday January 18, 2019 from 7- 9 pm, or attend the funeral in the Chapel on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1 pm.
