Reid SterlingREID, Sterling Eugene   - (DOB July 4, 1928)  It is with great sadness that the family of Sterling Reid announces his passing on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 at the age of 90.

He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, the late (Emma) Jeanne Reid (nee Beaulieu).

Loving father to Duane Reid (Mary K.) and cherished grandfather to Joel Reid (Julie), Erin Burns (Michael), Brooke Tucker-Reid (Eddie) and Dylan Reid (Tara).

 

Sterling will be loved and remembered by his beloved great-grandchildren Liam, McKenna, Camden, Gaelan, Kieran, Oliver, Kensington and Charles.

Also survived by his siblings Wanda Rodney and Doug Reid. As a Veteran, a dedicated volunteer, an active member of the community and a family man, Sterling dedicated himself to the benefit of others for the majority of his long life.

His legacy of service and generosity will continue to impact countless others for years to come.

His ability tell a joke or story and share a loving memory will be missed by his family and friends.

Sterling will be deeply missed by his friends and neighbours who cared for him so much over the past number of years.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital, and the personal support workers at St. Elizabeth’s through Central East LHIN who cared for Sterling.

Keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

If so desired, donations to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital would be appreciated.

A celebration of life is planned for May 4, 2019.
