TORFS VAN GELDER, Magda - It is with great sadness we announce that Magda Torfs Van Gelder passed away at home on Saturday May 25, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Pre-deceased by her adoring and adored husband, Walter Torfs.
Very best mother to Nadia Torfs (Francois Bessay), Arlette Torfs-Adair (Jamie Adair) and Annick Torfs (Michel Bouchard).
Always loving and supportive grandmother to Natacha, Nicolas and Julien Bessay-Torfs; Yannick, Damien and Sabrina Adair and Katia, Julie and Pierre Engell-Torfs.
Survived by her sisters Ria De Koninck, Krista Le Duc and her brother Hendrik Van Gelder.
We would like to thank Dr. Sarah Ahmed for the caring home visits and for making herself so accessible to us.
Thank you also to our outstanding nurses, Vera and Asvini in particular, for their excellent in-home care. Thank you for easing our way through the unbearable.
Thank you also to Dr Carly Jensen for being there for us during our Cottage hospital visit.
At our mom’s request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
