WILLIS, Kenneth Brian  - Passed away peacefully with his family at his side, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at the age of 73.

Beloved husband of Maureen for 37 years.

Loving father of Jeff (Christina), Shannon (Dan), Christine, Karen (Samm) and the late Jenny.

Cherished grandpa of Kayla, Kyle, Maya, Gabriel, Jackson, Hailey, Nicholas, Bobby-Jo and Scott.

Dear brother of Susan (Doug) and predeceased by his parents Gordon and Phyllis.

Fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.

Ken was well known to the community of Newcastle and found great joy in lending a helping hand. He was an active volunteer with the Newcastle Lions, Terry Fox Run, Walk for Dog Guides, Newcastle Bond Head Ratepayers Association, and many other community groups. Ken loved keeping active and social with his various sports leagues, including baseball, pickleball and bowling.

His friendships through these activities will be forever cherished. Ken lived in Pickering prior to moving to Newcastle in 2004.

Ken’s career was in the financial sector and he retired as an Assistant Vice-President at the Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS) after nearly three decades with the organization. His business and financial acumen helped guide many of his family, friends and organizations that he was involved in.

At the family’s request, a private service will take place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Newcastle Community Town Hall, 20 King Ave West, on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 from 1-5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Terry Fox Foundation would be greatly appreciated: www.terryfox.org.
