CARGILL, Isabel Agnes (née Carter)   - Passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday June 2nd, 2019, in her home at the age of 86.

Loving mother of John (Jack) Cargill.

Pre-deceased by her parents, John and Agnes Carter, her sister Ethel Rowan, and her brothers, George Carter, Roy Carter, and Robert Carter. Isabel is survived by her loving brother Fred Carter (Margaret).

Isabel leaves behind many nieces and nephews and will be especially missed by her daughter-in-law Frances, and her grandchildren Carter and Katie.

Isabel’s life was shaped by a penetrating curiosity, a love of learning, and a commitment to service.

As a school psychologist she was a pioneer in the diagnosis and remediation of learning disabilities in children and in later life worked tirelessly to assess, re-train, and re-employ laid-off workers.

Isabel traveled widely and maintained a lifelong love of English literature and film. Remembered with great love and affection by her friends and family.

Funeral will be held in the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville, on Saturday June 8th, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. with visitation for one-hour starting at 11:00 A.M. Interment of Isabel’s ashes at the St. John’s Cemetery will be arranged in July.
