DOUGLAS, Kenneth Frederick - Kenneth was born September 20, 1940 in Toronto, Ontario and passed away on June 20, 2019 at the age of 78 after a valiant battle with terminal cancer.
Ken worked in the ‘shoe business’ for over 40 years, and spent much of his career as the manager of the men’s department at Harry Young Shoes in Toronto.
Ken grew up in the Danforth area and was the oldest of 6 children. Caring husband to Sonia (Kosowan) for 29 years, loving father to Tammy (Stephanie) Douglas and Tracey Douglas and proud grandpa to his grandson, Everett Richard-Douglas. Ken is predeceased by Sonia (2012) and Tracey (2014).
Ken is also predeceased by parents, Fred and Irene (Dowling) Douglas and siblings Sandra and Barry Douglas. He is survived by, and will be lovingly remembered by siblings Ron (Jean) Douglas, Donna (Tom) McLarty, Wayne (Donna) Douglas and sister-in-law Betty (Toth) Douglas as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ken will be greatly missed by his daughter & family.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 11am-2pm at the home of his daughter, Tammy. Ken will be cremated and laid to rest in Bowmanville, ON.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are most welcome.
Ken was well supported by the volunteers in the Wheels of Hope program that assisted in driving him to his many treatments.
