LINTON, Guy Livingston - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Guy Livingston Linton.
He passed away at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre after his second courageous battle with cancer on Monday, December 9, 2019.
Guy is survived by his wife Lyllette of 16 years, daughters Karen Linton (Garland) and Denise Linton, brother Vermon “Manzie” Linton, sisters Myrtle Linton, Pearl Francis, Delce Nansen (Stanley), Gweneth “Joyce” Linton, Evet Walters (Shevarria “Neville”), Paulet Linton, grandchildren Marques Griffiths, Sierra Griffiths, Kelise Linton, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents Cyril and Lettice Linton and brothers Kenrick “Ted” Linton and Ezra “Leo” Linton.
Guy was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone.
Guy loved sports, especially witnessing his favourite basketball team, the Toronto Raptors, win the NBA Championship this year!
He worked as a Coding and Abstracting Analyst for almost 30 years, but retired early to enjoy life. He spent his free time watching various sports games, going to the gym and playing golf with his buddies almost every Wednesday during the warmer months. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Guy had a great sense of humour, always making people laugh. He was also an avid domino and scrabble player. Guy was loyal and could always be counted on by his relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Kevin Higgins, Dr. Jordan Zeppieri, the D6 and C2 nurses and the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for their loving care and support during his final days.
Visitation at McEachnie Funeral Home, Ajax, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM on December 26th. Visitation and Funeral services for Guy will be held at Ajax Alliance Church on Saturday, December 28th 10:15 - 11:00 AM with Service at 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Odette Cancer Centre – Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 3M5.
