With deep sadness the family announces the passing of Clare Finnegan, peacefully at Hillsdale Terraces, Oshawa, on Sunday, February 27, 2022 in her 91st year.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, on December 13, 1931.
Beloved wife to the late Laurence Finnegan.
If ever there was a matriarch of the family, it was Clare.
Loved mother of Bill (predeceased), Declan (predeceased), Marian (Garry) and husband Bill, Terry and wife Vivienne, and Donna (Bellamy) and husband Bill.
Beloved grandmother to Missy Taylor, Larry Finnegan, Megan Taylor, Michael Finnegan, Kerry Bellamy, Brendan Garry and Declan Bellamy.
Also sadly missed by her sister Rita Mullen, and predeceased by Bess McDonagh, Marie Caffrey, Floss Lawless, Josephine Collins, Pat McDonagh, Thomas McDonagh, Jim McDonagh and Sheila O’Brien.
Sister-in-law to Vincent O’Brien. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews in Canada, Ireland, England and Australia.
A special thank you to friends, doctors, and the wonderful staff at Hillsdale Terraces who treated Clare like family and helped to ease the path for her and and her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Friday, March 4, 2022 for visitation from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 194 Simcoe St. N., on Saturday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. The family has requested that all attendees for visitation and Mass be double vaccinated. Cremation with interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
