Biersteker SimonBIERSTEKER, Simon

(Owner/Operator of Simon’s Super Service)

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville with his sons by his side on Thursday February 16, 2023, Simon went to be with his Lord and Saviour in his 83rd year.

Beloved husband of Lois.

Supportive dad of James and wife Deborah, Steve and wife Dana.

Devoted and adoring Grandpa of Teagan, Zachary, Lyndsay and Simone.

Brother of Annie Debruin (late Bert), Claude Biersteker (Anne), Dick Biersteker (Aleida) and John Biersteker (Patti).

Simon will be dearly missed by extended family and friends.

Simon has always been known for his adventurous spirit over the years. He built many friendships through his involvement with motorcycles and sports cars; running many garages; stock car racing; snowmobiling and ATVs; touring cars; and the local car scene.

His grandkids were always amazed by how he knew so many people, everywhere they went, often by the car they drove, or used to drive.  Simon & Lois always had an "open door" approach with friends and the friends of their kids.

Many people have often congregated at the house, garage, and shop.  He flourished during retirement by being the ultimate cheerleader for the interests of his grandkids and many others.

Many hours were spent at the hockey rink, soccer field, pool, school gym/auditorium, etc... "Let 'er Rip" could often be heard from the viewing areas.

Simon's passion over the last number of years was his involvement with both the founding and promoting of the 'Fire Up The Grille' car show and Ministry.

Relatives and friends are invited to McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Tuesday February 21, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church (300 Rossland Rd. E., Oshawa) at 11 am.

Donations in memory of Simon can be made to Calvary Baptist Church - Sponsor a Kid for Summer Camp, as supported by the Fire Up The Grille car show.

The family would like to thank friends, neighbours and family that have supported us over the last number of months.
