KELLY, Florence (Jones) Kelly  -

October 23, 1929 – March 11, 2023

With great sorrow we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Florence Kelly (Jones), in her 94th year.

Florence passed away peacefully on March 11th, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in the Supportive Care Unit.

Loving wife of John (deceased), mother to Kim (Andrew), Richard (Eun Ja), and Tracey (Yves – deceased), grandmother to Courtney (Mike), Alexandra (Sean), Mackenzie (Matt), and Jack (Ashley), great grandmother to Austin, Ryder, Eleanor, and Charlotte. Also, a caring ‘step-mom’ to Wes (deceased).

Florence was born in Portsmouth, England in 1929 to Emmanuel and Florence Jones.

She was very close to her siblings, John (deceased), Grace (deceased), Gwen, Betty, and Jean (deceased). Every year, up until 2020, she went “home” to spend 6 months of the year with her family in England. These were times that she looked forward to and always cherished.

Florence spent her work years providing support at a daycare program. working along side her best friend (Gina Jennings - deceased). Together they engaged the kids in everything from floor hockey to theatrical plays, where they hand sewed the costumes themselves.

A special mention should be made to the exceptional staff in the Supportive Care Unit at Lakeridge Health. We would like to thank them for their kindness and support during Flo’s length of stay. They are very special people.

A memorial visitation will be held at the private home of Tracey Kelly on Saturday March 18th from 2 pm - 4 pm. Please message directly for address.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Supportive Care Unit, or the charity of your choice.
