MACINNIS-AKISTER, Pearl MacInnis-Akister   -  Passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023, due to complications from COVID-19 at Ross Memorial Hospital.

Pearl loved her family, gardening, golfing, dancing, cooking, snuggling babies and a good cup of tea.

Pearl was an avid Blue Jay fan and never missed an episode of the Y&R. Always a hard worker, she was never without a smile on her face and was always welcoming and willing to lend a hand. Pearl is predeceased by her husbands, Gerald Akister and Lorne MacInnis.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters Geraldine (Harold Lodwick predeceased) and Valerie ( Richard Parliament); her adored grandchildren Wendy (Greg), Rob (Alison), Becky (Steve), Amy (Jay), Ian (Emily), and Emily (Mike), and 15 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Jean Fisher and brother John Gregg and predeceased by siblings Frank, Alvin, Morley, Margaret, Mildred and Clayton.

She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews and many friends.

A special thank-you to the Lindsay Palliative Care Unit and the staff and residents at Adelaide Place for their care and compassion.

There will be a private family internment. The family intends to celebrate Pearl’s life with friends and family at a later date, details to be communicated separately.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Harold Lodwick Citizenship Award or The Ross Memorial Palliative Care unit would be greatly appreciated.
