LAFLEUR, Joseph  -  It’s with a broken heart that we announce the passing of Joseph Lafleur (Scrappy Joe) on April 5, 2023 at Oak Ridges Hospice, in his 75th year after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the loving father to Deena Lafleur (Chris) and cherished grandfather to Sophia Ambrosio.

Predeceased by his wife Jo-Anne Lafleur in 2021.

Joe was born in Cartier, Ontario to Jean-Baptiste Lafleur and Georvette Lenneville.

Cherished brother from a family of 21 – Lorenzo (Birch), Monica, Louis, Aline, Gilbert, Rita, Rene, Paulette, Lucienne, Adjutor, Leo, Noella, Henry, Alfred (Teddy), Edna, Evelyne, Paul, Rose, Albert, Johnny.

Joe will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and his cat Sassy (Pussy Cat).

He loved life, always accepted people for who they were and was a favorite Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Joe was a proud man with a great sense of humor, enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, working on vehicles, small equipment, snow plowing, helping others repair things, driving around looking for scrap and had a love for old cars.

His family was always top priority to him and he loved his granddaughter Sophia immensely.

His legacy will live on forever and he will always be remembered for having such a big heart.

Special thanks to Alfred (Teddy) for helping take him to appointments, Dave, Lori, Joan for your thoughtfulness in providing him with home cooked meals and treats and checking up on him to make sure he was ok.

Special thanks to all the fabulous staff at Oak Ridges Hospice for taking such good care of Joe during his last days and caring about him.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Oak Ridges Hospice in memory of Joe would be appreciated.
