Tillaart LoriTILLAART, Lori Tillaart   -

May 15, 1966 April 20, 2023

Passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday April 20th, 2023 at the age of 56.

Beginning as the beloved daughter of Harry and Dorothy Galbraith and baby sister to Cheryl Vogt and Ron Galbraith, Lori would go on to become the loving wife of Peter Tillaart, and a wonderful mother of Scott Tillaart.

Her memory will be forever treasured by both the Galbraith and Tillaart families as well as many friends.

Lori grew up in Ajax, Ontario with her parents where she met her husband Peter, “the boy next door,” when he helped her with her car on a crisp fall morning.

She came back around 2 weeks later and asked him out.  2 years later they were married at St. Timothy’s church on May 12th 1990 and they had a son together 4 years after.

Much of Lori's youth was dedicated to her hobbies such as french classes and going to concerts, as well as swimming with her parents. After marriage, her favourite hobby became pushing her husband to get out more.

Naturally caring in nature, Lori was employed as a PSW taking care of the sick, injured and elderly for most of her working life, all the while raising a son at home.

While she sadly had many medical complications, Lori was incredibly "strong of spirit," (a polite way to say stubborn) a trait she passed on to her son. Lori's confidence and determination allowed her to pushed through any adversity no matter how severe, to the point that nurses would always have a tough time keeping up with her right to the end.

Visitation at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N Whitby on Friday April 28th from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00.  Celebration of life will be held in the Barnes Chapel Saturday at 11:00 am

In memory of Lori memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
