It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dave Barnard on April 23, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with his loving wife Noreen by his side.
Family meant more to Dave than anything, and it brought him so much joy seeing everyone together.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 46 years, Noreen, and their children Warren (Betty), Kate (Adam), and grandchildren Henry, Thomas, and Makhaila.
Dave treasured the boundless love and energy that filled his home and his life with happiness and laughter. After retiring from General Motors after 34 years in 2006, Dave focused his attention on various projects at the family cottage where he enjoyed spending each year from May to October.
Anyone who knew Dave will attest to his love of cooking and baking, especially for others and for special occasions. His kindness did not stop with food; if you needed support, a place to lay your head, or just someone to listen, he was always there. He did not judge. He was a man of compassion and integrity.
Our sincerest heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Sunnybrook Hospital, Lakeridge Health Oshawa, and Lakeridge Health Port Perry for all of the tremendous care Dave received over the past 2 years.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday May 6th, from 3-6pm at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME located at 847 King St W, Oshawa.
