LAING, William "Bill"  - Bill was born October 6th, 1928 in Fife, Scotland to David and Elizabeth Laing.

He was the eighth of twelve children.

Bill is survived by his 3 sons Blair (Ali), Craig, Murray (Mary).

Also his four grandchildren; Cari-Anne (Jeff), Brett (Jenn), Derek (Ashley), Dan (Justine) and his six great grandchildren Brooke, Konnor, Kale, Harper, Sawyer, and Sydney. Bill is also survived by his 5 siblings Joe, Robert, Barbara, Etta, and Ella.

Bill lived a very full life. He was an avid cyclist in his younger years; he loved all sports, music, dancing, woodworking in his self built workshop, but his most prized accomplishment was being a member of the Scarborough Dukes of Harmony Barbershop Chorus. Bill sang with the chorus in the 1970’s and 1980’s, winning two world championships and winning top four, three times.

Bill’s last year and six months were spent at Ballycliffe Lodge in Ajax. He made so many new friends and the staff became a second family to him. The care, support and dignity showed by the entire staff was overwhelming to our entire family. Thank you for all that you do.

Arrangements with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.
