WESTCOTT, Victor Ross  -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Ross Westcott on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, at Spencer House in Orillia, with his daughter Teresa by his side.

 

Ross was the loyal and devoted husband to his late wife Margie (nee Acton) 1998 for over 50 years.

 

Loving father of Ross Jr (Wendy), Ron (Liz) and Teresa (Brian).

 

Ross Sr. was born on May 26th, 1927, to the late Jack and Ann Westcott.

 

He was the middle child with two older sisters, the late Grace (Pat) Pattison, the late Eunice (John) Sartell, and two younger sisters, the late Muriel (Russ) Betts, and is survived by his youngest sister, Shirley (Bill) Deconkey.

 

Loving Grampa of Peter, Christine, Cheryl, Ashley, Ryan, Darryl, Phillip, Robert, David, and Paul. Great Grampa of Charlotte, Benjamin, Scottie, Felix, Sophia, Luca, Emily, Damien, and Bryson.

 

Ross grew up on the family farm located on the 10th concession of Thorah Township and lived in the Township all his life, managing a successful multigenerational farm business which was established by his grandfather. He took great pride in managing his beef and sheep livestock operation.

 

Ross’ Sports Career began in 1936 at the Church picnic which took place at Couchiching Park
in Orillia, where he won a race and was awarded a shiny new jack knife. That was the beginning of his
love and passion for sport, be it track, hockey or baseball. 


Thank you so much to Brock Community Care, the VON of Gillespie Gardens. Brenda Taylor…who Lit up Ross’ Day when she came in to help him out!! Thank you to the Medical Team of Soldiers Memorial Hospital, The Team of Care Givers of Spencer House who took such great care of Ross.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 12th at the Mangan Funeral Home, from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1P.M. Interment to follow in Beaverton.

In lieu of flowers donations to Parkinson's Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
