Michael Raymond Soornoe Lully Munian, 83 of Toronto, Ontario passed away on September 18, 2023, at the Scarborough Health Network - Centenary Hospital.
Born June 23,1940, in Georgetown, Guyana, to the late James and Lutchmin Munian (Deygoo), Michael was a person who genuinely cared for others.
He dedicated his life to helping people, offering advice and guidance whenever possible.
Michael completed his education at Campbellville Government School in Guyana.
Although he did not have the opportunity for higher education, he recognized its importance and did his personal best to encourage his children to obtain a solid education to enhance their future success.
As a Christian he nurtured his children in the Roman Catholic Faith.
In his later years, he drew closer to his faith and often reflected on how God had given him so many chances and how he wished he had lived his life differently.
In his lifetime, Michael proved to be a remarkable entrepreneur, achieving success in several business ventures such as his wholesale milk and shoe distribution businesses.
He earned a reputation for reliability and friendly service and was popular and well-liked by his customers. As a father, he tried to do his best to support and nurture his children, based on what he knew at that time.
He loved his children and, although he was known to express his love for them to others, he was not known for expressing his love to them directly. He is survived by his 12 children: Ram, David (Pickey), Feroz, Susan, Linda, Michael, Jonathan, Kevin, Maria Ann, David, Hermes and Latchmin.
He was predeceased by his son Peter. He was a proud grandfather of many grandchildren.
Michael is also survived by his brothers, Uriah, John, and James, as well as his sisters, Cynthia (Seenarine), Herma (Husain) and Bridget (Gobin).
He is predeceased by his siblings Roland, Lona (Hinds), Lena (Singh), Hermes and Moses. He leaves to mourn his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles from the Munian, Deygoo, Morgan , Boyer and Naraine families.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of The SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE at 1057 Brock Rd, Pickering, ON L1W 3T7 on Thursday September 28, 2023 with Visitation held from 10-11 am in the chapel, followed by a Catholic funeral service. Private cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, monetary or in-kind donations can be made to "Good Shepherd Ministries" to support homeless shelter initiatives.
