SIKMA, Howard James Sikma  -

1970 - 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our much loved Howard James Sikma.

Much loved husband of Kennedy. Loving dad of Connor (Madison), Brent (Elora) and Kailynn and step-dad of Nigel, Logan, London and Ethan.

Cherished grampa of Emery & Brooks. Dear brother of George (Jane), Julia (Rick), Yoland (Mitch), Tim (Joanne), Grace (Jim) and Joyce (Andy). He was predeceased by his parents Peter & Jane Sikma.

He will be lovingly remembered by his cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. Howard lived his life to the absolute fullest. He worked hard to play hard – the motto – you only live once! He had a fierce love for his children, Connor, Brent and Kailynn, they were his pride and joy.

Being able to farm with them was and is his greatest accomplishment. Becoming a grampa to his Emery and Brooks were the highlight of his days. Howard was a passionate Holstein breeder achieving the top accolade status of Master Breeder from Holstein Canada.

The love of his life, his soulmate, his best friend Kennedy. His love for her was unparalleled.

He loved her more than the world itself and made sure to show her and tell her everyday. He spent his last day with Kennedy enjoying their favourite places in Picton, they danced to their wedding song, he asked her if she loved the farm life and being his wife – the simple answer: Yes!

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Wednesday October 18th from 6 – 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 2805 Highway 2 Bowmanville on Thursday October 19th at 11 am. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made to Durham East 4H or The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
