BROWN, William Ralph Brown  -   90, of Bowmanville, Ontario, passed away in the comfort of his home on November 8, 2023.

Ralph was born September 11, 1933, to Gordon and Fern Brown (nee Stenton) in Peterborough Ontario in the family home.

Ralph attended Peterborough Collegiate Institute and worked many jobs (Coca Cola delivery driver, Fisher Gauge Works and General Electric) until he found his true calling, reporting for duty with the Ontario Provincial Police in 1959.

Ralph loved telling stories of his early days serving in North Bay, being Detachment Commander in Spanish and working the 401 in Newcastle where he retired as Sergeant in April 1991.

In 1962, Ralph met Betty Jean Jacque at a Young Peoples event at the United Church in Peterborough and they were married on June 1, 1963. Ralph and Betty went on to have 3 boys, Ralph (Patti), Steven (Sarah) and David (Stacey).

He was a devoted family man spending time with his 8 grandchildren: Alexandra, Natalie, Nate, Derek, Leah, Madeleine, James and Ryan, He was especially proud that all of them went on to attain university degrees in Engineering, Medicine, Psychology, Education, Information Technology, and Public Policy.

Ralph was a real people person who loved to spin a yarn and had a knack for drawing people in and making them feel comfortable in any situation.

Ralph was predeceased by his sisters Marion Brown and Jean Stubley.

Celebration of Life drop-in will be held at Morris Funeral Chapel (4 Division St., Bowmanville) on Saturday, December 2 from 11-2 PM with Sharing of Memories at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local food bank in his name.
