PIZZUTI, Reyta Pizzuti   -
June 28th, 1939 – November 22nd, 2023

84 years old.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Reyta Pizzuti on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023.

She will missed and loved always by her lifelong partner and husband Mario, daughters Cheryl McConachie (Hartley), Tracy Deschenes (Steve), Terry Fry (Jeremy), Lia Pizzuti (Mike) and her sons Mario Pizzuti Jr. (Judy) and Steven Pizzuti.

Remembered always as an awesome Grandma/Nonna to Jacquelyn Pizzuti (Aaron), Michael Christensen (Lindsay), Amy Vincent (Tyler), Jason Pizzuti (Lexy), Marc Pizzuti (Kristen), Alexis Van de Kamp (Chris), Kevin McConachie (Cody) and Amber Pizzuti.

She got so much joy and laughter as a GiGi to Lily, Mira, Gwen, Conner, Nash, Aila, Tali, Liam and Damian (pre-deceased).

Reyta was born in Kincardine, grew up in Lucknow, and then moved to Toronto where she started her career as an Educational Assistant. She moved to Beaverton in 1973 and worked as an EA for the Durham Public School Board for over 20 years.

Reyta loved to exercise and stay healthy. She loved cross-country skiing, curling, and walking for miles every day. People might remember seeing her at the local gym pumping some iron too.

She loved gardening, which she was very talented at. She also enjoyed spending time with all her dear friends.

We will miss her wit, smiles and home cooked meals so much.

A celebration of life will be taking place at The Beaverton Curling Club, 164 Main St., on Saturday, December 16th at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can made to the charity of Reyta’s choice - The Terry Fox Foundation.
