1940 - 2023
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Norman John Hart on Friday December 15th, 2023.
Norm was predeceased by his parents Edward and Emily (Baggaley) Hart.
An only child with a heart that loved endlessly. Norm is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 65 years, Dorothy (Upfold).
Norm was a dedicated and incredible father to Linda Mulgrew (Michael), Darlene Woolgar (Michael), Richard (Margaret) and Thomas (Shannon).
Norm went above and beyond to ensure his children became the kind and remarkable individuals they are today.
Norm’s legacy includes his team of ten grandchildren, Anna (Taylor), Matthew, Emily, Grace, Joseph, David, Lauren, Evelyn, Benjamin, and Rachel. His two great grandchildren, Charlie and Liam brought great joy into his life these past two years.
Norm fought a hard and courageous 13-year battle against cancer, never yielding or allowing it to shape his identity.
He found joy and pride in creating their beautiful family cottage on Big Cedar Lake which provided their family and friends a wonderful gathering place to create endless memories.
Norm and Dorothy founded Hart Well Electrical in 1985 with a dream, hard work, and the help of so many dedicated people which continues to flourish.
Visitation will take place at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Rd Ajax on Tuesday December 19th, 2023, from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday December 20th, 2023, at 1:00pm. Reception immediately following.
The family would like to thank the Ajax-Pickering Palliative Care team for their care and support which allowed Norm to pass peacefully at home with his loving family all around him.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre would be appreciated .
