RENAUD, Theresa Claire (née Drudy) Renaud -
October 24, 1927 - December 17, 2023

Theresa died peacefully on December 17th at Lakeridge Health Oshawa General Hospital, after a brief stay. She was in her 97th year.

Most beloved wife of John (1975). Theresa and John were true life partners, met and married in Windsor, and moved to Scarborough to build their future and have a family together. It was a heart-rending blow when he was taken so young.

Dear and loving mother of Mary Jo Watt (Gord), Chris Renaud (Sandy), Theresa Legassicke (Brian), Patsy Crandles (Kevin), Denise Tanner Murray (Richard) and Frances Renaud (Bill Simpson).

Fun and engaged grandmother of Jeff, Jenny, James, Catherine and Amy Watt; the late Sarah, Emily, Stephen and Katy Renaud; Colleen, Libby and John Legassicke; Matthew, Jackie, Patrick, Brian and Kathleen Crandles; and John, Nicole and Danielle Tanner. Theresa had a very close connection with all of her grandkids, as well as with their significant others.

Sweet GG of 30 and counting: Landon, Jordan, Caleb, Sophia, Kennedy, Taylor, Mackenzie, Jane, Vivienne, Dylan, Emma, Colton, Zoey, Claire, Valentina, Hudson, Jazlyn, Cameron, Anna, Brock, Esmé, Liam, James, Arlo, Percy and Nora, as well as the newest members of the family, Jacob and Brady, and Jacob and Liam. What a legacy!

Loving daughter of late parents Anna Casey and Edward Drudy. Predeceased by dear sisters Anna Fitzsimmons Taylor and Rose Ouellette, and by dearly loved friend and sister-in-law Mary Morkin. Survived by sister Marie McMahon (Burlington, formerly Windsor) and sister of her heart Mary Lesperance (Emsdale). Theresa was a caring aunt and godmother, and a most loving and loyal friend.

Theresa had the no-nonsense “let’s just get on with it” philosophy common to her generation, a witty, mischievous sense of humour, and boundless personal charm. All of these, along with her deep Catholic faith, served her well throughout her long life, sustaining her in the shock and crushing sorrow of her early and sudden widowhood, in the tragic loss of her beloved first grandchild, and latterly, as she faced her struggles with aging with grace, courage, and yes, humour.

Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, Friday, December 29 at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 1148 Finch Avenue, Pickering. Private interment at a later date.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff at White Cliffe Terrace, especially the 4th floor, for their care of our darling mother for the last 4½ years.

Should you wish, a donation in memory of Theresa to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or to a charity of your choice, would be deeply appreciated by the family.

“And now these three things remain: faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13.
