GRAY, Larry William - It is with mixed emotions that the family is announcing that Larry William Gray has been promoted to Glory to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Larry passed on December 16, 2023 at the age of 85 years old.
He is survived by Fern (Glover) Gray, the love of his life for 66 years: daughter Cheryl (Ken) Lowrie, sons Brian (Rita) and David (Katy). He is also survived by grandchildren Jessica (David) Kennedy, Emma (Brent) Baggett, Abigail (John) Brant, Jonathan, Hannah, Zachary, James and Emily.
He was delighted to have 4 great grandchildren Brodie, Caragh, Aoibhinn and Brooke.
He is survived by his stepbrother Grant Hedges, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his siblings Ronald (Carol) Gray, Donna (Wayne) Eagleton and Susan (Ken) Linnen. Larry had a servant's heart and was faithful in his local church.
Larry opened his home to family gatherings, Bible Club, young peoples meetings and friends. He also faithfully supported his wife's passions of crafts, cake decoration, teaching and anything to do with children's ministries.
He drove a school bus to VBS and Day camp. He helped where he could to allow children to learn about salvation.
He loved to whistle and will be remembered at both Cedarcroft and Hillsdale for his friendly attitude, whistling, and devotion to Fern. He will be remembered as a man of faith. Fern will be lost without him.
The family thanks the staff at Cedarcroft, Hillsdale and Lakeridge Health Bowmanville for their care and support. Family and friends will be received at Calvary Baptist Church, 301 Rossland Road, Oshawa on Thursday December 28, 2023 from 12:30 pm until the time of memorial service at 2 pm. Arrangements with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.
Donations would be gratefully received for Calvary Baptist Church (Oshawa), Bible Centered Ministries (Millstream Bible Camp) and Joy Bible Camp.
