HUNT, Thomas Lorne Hunt  -

November 15, 1937 - February 6, 2024

On February 6th, Tom passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife Rosemary and his four children following a heroic fight against cancer.

His enduring qualities of integrity, determination and work ethic are only surpassed by his love of family.

He leaves be behind Rosemary, his loving wife of 67 years, his four children Betty Ann (Harold), Stephen (Sara), Catherine (Eric), Terri (Don), his 11 grand children; Adam, Jessica, Drew, Jeffrey, Melissa, Colin, Kayla, Trevor, Emily, Sam, Leanne, his 7 great grand children; Thomas, Ellie, Apollo, William, Caius, Felix and Lucy and his 2 younger brothers Bill and Rick.

He was a kind, generous and thoughtful person, often sought out for his advice and wisdom by his extended family, the ‘Consigliore’. These qualities permeated our family culture and exemplified a work ethic that his children applied personally and professionally. He was known around his church for his sense of humour which was particularly helpful when he was responsible for passing around the collection basket!

Tom’s rise from the neighbourhoods of Bathurst and Adelaide to Bank Teller, to Bank President exemplified his intellect, strength, and determination. His successful 40-year career included promotions that took the family across Canada with a final stint with Rosemary in the U.S.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Tom has found eternal peace and a golf game that never ends.

Tom's life and legacy will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass  on Thursday, February 15, 2024.  Mass begins at 11:00 am

at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Morrish Road, Scarborough.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
