PATTISON, Donald Pattison  -

1936-2024

It is with great sadness we share the news of Don’s passing.

Don is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Lesley, and two of his sons, Neil and Ian(Karen).

He is predeceased by his eldest son, Gregory. He is grandfather to Kristen(Nic) and Luke, and great-grandfather to Max. Don was born the youngest of six siblings in Yorkshire, England.

He is predeceased by four sisters and one brother. He was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews and looked forward to their company on his trips back home. Don immigrated to Canada with his young family in 1967.

He was a tool and die maker, and his innovative thinking and skills earned him the respect of his fellow journeymen. Don loved a good laugh, a good beer, and the company of good friends.

He was especially close with Les and Jean Sayer, fellow immigrants met shortly after his arrival in Canada.

Upon retirement, he enjoyed several years of travel to South Carolina where he met with a large group of friends each spring and fall.

Some of his favourite times were spent setting up in the dark on the beach to fish through the sunrise.

Instead of goodbye, Don would tell you, “Mind how you go”, and “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do and you’ll be alright”.

It was Don’s wish that no service be held.

We ask that you hold his memory closely, and wish him a fond farewell.
