Joynson SheilaJOYNSON, Sheila Ada Joynson -

JULY 3, 1937 – MARCH 5, 2024

After a short illness with esophageal cancer, our beloved Sheila left us on March 5th, 2024 at the age of 86.

Sheila was born on July 3rd, 1937 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in England’s Midlands district.

She was the middle daughter between sisters Jessie and Jenny, born to Lily and Charles Jones during the years of the Great Depression, with WWll, soon to follow.

Her childhood, though happy, was marred by her father’s suffering with Multiple Sclerosis and her mother managing household finances for many years.

Sheila learned optimism, humour and unflappable resilience from her mother’s strength of character and her father’s stoicism.

Sheila immigrated to Canada in 1955, along with fiancé Bill (predeceased) and his family, where they were married in Toronto.

They lived in this city before moving to Whitby and later to Courtice. Sheila was born to travel and together with her much loved Bill, she saw the ruins of Rome, the pyramids of Egypt, the tulip fields of Netherlands and the White Cliffs of Dover along with many other wonders.

Sheila leave behind her daughter Lori (Bob), son Phil (Kathy), grandchildren Natalie (Tetsu), Taylor (Seth), Emma (Bryson), Eric, sister Jenny of the UK and many extended relatives.

Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements with COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL .

In lieu of flowers, a donation to your charity of choice would be appreciated.
