MURPHY, Marjorie - On the afternoon of March 25, 2024, Marjorie Murphy passed away at Ajax Pickering Hospital, at the age of 94.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sean, in 1996.
Marge is survived by her daughter, Pam (Steve); and grandchildren, Talia and Aric.
Described as small but mighty, Marge made her mark on the field of Occupational Therapy, as a pioneer of her time, at the Clark Institute (now the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) in Toronto.
Even after her retirement, she remained active on committees for many years, eventually having an award named after her for graduates of the Occupational Therapy Program at University of Toronto.
She led a life of continuous learning, valued friendships and adventure; travelling the world and learning to lawn bowl in her golden years. She led with love and remained kind and gentle until the end.
The family would like to thank the care staff, nurses and doctors of Leaside Retirement Residence and Winbourne Park, for their care during her time there.
There will not be a public service, but if you felt touched by Marge during her life, the family encourages you to make a donation in her honour to Alzheimer Society of Canada.
