JARVIS, Orville Bruce Jarvis   -  Orvill was born on Sunday, March 14th, 1937, in Bothwell, P.E.I.

He passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the LakeRidge Hospital in Oshawa.

After suffering a few years of dementia and poor health, his last round at the hospital proved to be too much for the cowboy. He was preceded in death by his partner, Rosina Bayliss, his ex-wife and mother of his children, Catherine Griffith (nee Mckenna), his sister, Gloria Anne Whalen (John), his brother Aubrey Richard Jarvis (Sandra) and his parents Marie Emily Jarvis (nee Bruce) and George Alexander Jarvis (Jr).

Orville is survived by his brothers Lionel Ross Jarvis (Linda) and Weldon Edward Jarvis (Lori), his partner Margaret Sonley, his children, Dave Jarvis (Mary), Cindy Metcalfe (Brian), Dacin Jarvis (June), Tracey Jarvis-Craig (Anne) and Les Jarvis.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Avery, Danielle, Ashley, Lexi, Hannah, Amber and Brianna, and great grandkids, Zoltan, Ellie, Fletcher, Colson and Finnigan.

Also survived by his nieces and nephews, their families and also the extended families. Dad grew up in PEI where, based on his stories, he kept himself busy!

He transplanted to Toronto, then to Smiths Falls, Ontario.

After Rosina passed away, dad got together with a kind lady from the area, Margaret Sonley.

Marg was his lifeline during the last bunch of years and the family acknowledges how kind a person she was to our dad. Looking after him until the very end.

Dad always said if it wasn’t for bad luck, he wouldn’t have any luck at all.

Well, having Marg as his partner in the end was the greatest stroke of luck he could ever have had. Dad will be missed.

Also, thanks to all who visited dad in his final months, you made a difference in his life.

Dad has been cremated and no service is being held on his wishes. A celebration of life will happen in the near future.
