Barber MargaretBARBER, Margaret Ann Mae (nee Ambrose)  -  Unexpectedly, yet peacefully, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, in her 90th year.

Predeceased by her first husband Bill Barber (1990) and survived by her second husband Les Fickling.

 

Beloved Mom of William Barber (Sherry) and Christine Van Hees (Harry).

 

Cherished Gram of Leslie, Will, Heather, and Gregory (Judy).

Fondly remembered by her step-children Lisa Smith (Stephen) and Michael Fickling and her step-grandchildren Patrick, Derek, and Angela. Predeceased by her brothers James, Harry, and Harvey.


Margaret was very active within her community. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels, the local food bank in Bridgenorth, enjoying yard sales at Bridgenorth United Church and in her spare time knitting prayer shawls.

 

She was Past President of the United Church Women at St. Stephens United Church, Oshawa, and was a long-time member of the Rebekah Lodges in Oshawa, Peterborough and Cobourg.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation.
