Dell JoyDELL, Joy - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joy Dell, our loving, forever smiling, wife, mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, July 20th, 2017.

Joy was the devoted wife and soulmate of Bill Dell for 69 wonderful years, and the unfailingly supportive mother to Michael (Debbie) of Courtice, Dan (Kathy) of Campbellcroft and Debbie (Ted Zak) of Oshawa.

She was eternally loving and tolerant always leading by example for her grandchildren, Alex, Thomas (Kayla), Hayley (Bill), Jesse (Dallas) Rosie (Dave) Evelyn (Mandell), Jordan (Samantha), Taylor (Kayla), and great grandchildren Abbie, Xander, Benjamin, Remi, Emil and Rory.

Joy was blessed to have a full and varied life with a kaleidoscope of careers ranging from wife and mother to newspaper columnist, radio ad copy writer, English teacher and lecturer.

Her passion for teaching and writing was manifested by her various positions as an English teacher with the Durham School Board and Durham College as well as lecturer, Christian Science Practitioner and unwavering advocate of healing through prayer in the Christian Religion.

Joy will always be remembered as forever cheerful with a great sense of humour as expressed by the sign on her office door, “Just visiting this Planet”

The family will be holding a Private Celebration of Life in her honour and would request any memorial donations be made to your local Humane Society or CHARITY of your choice.

Arrangements entrusted to MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
