Peter AlphonsoPETER, Alphonso Carol Peter  - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dad and grandpa Alphonso Peter on Sunday July 2, 2017.

He was born in Germany in 1925.

Al and his family emigrated to Canada in 1929.

Loving husband of Bonnie (deceased).

Father of Dan, Tom (Anne-Marie), Ralph (Margaret), Betty (fiance Jim) and Bernadette (Charles).

Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Aaron, Cristina, Bonnie, Zachary, Sebastien, Brielle, Ethan and Samantha.

Great grandfather to Caleb. Al will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.

A longtime resident in Toronto, dad lived his final years enjoying the hospitality and clientele at Cedarcroft Retirement Community in Oshawa.

Many thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of Lakeridge Health Oshawa for caring for our dad so wonderfully.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday July 10th 3:30 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home located at 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill followed by a reception at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Tuesday July 11th at 11 am.

Those wishing to attend will meet at Holy Cross Funeral home from where we will proceed to the gravesite.

In lieu of flowers you may wish to contribute in our dad’s name to Lakeridge Health Oshawa 1 Hospital Crt, Oshawa ON L1G-2B9 or to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, 20 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario, M4R 1K8

We know that when we gather to send him off, dad will no doubt leave us with the words he so often said “Come back again when you can’t stay so long.”
