FORSYTH, Donald “Don” Stephen  - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Stephen Forsyth on Wednesday January 3, 2018, peacefully at home.

Don was the son of Wilfred (Shorty) and Marion Forsyth of Uxbridge Ontario.

He is survived by his wife, Florence, sons William, Paul (Sheila), Stephen (Debbie), daughter Nancy, grandson Greg, grand-daughter Amanda, sisters Winnifred (Harvey) Acton, Doris (Murray) Taylor and predeceased by sons Donald and Lawrence, grandson Andrew, brother Peter (Marie) Forsyth, sisters Muriel (Frank) Skerratt and Margaret (William) Harwood.

Don was born on May 5, 1925 in Uxbridge, Ontario. In 1943 at the age of 18 he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force.  In 1945 he was honourably discharged and worked at several trades.

He married Florence Wright on February 21, 1952 and they raised six children together.  Don was an employee at Uxbridge Beverages (Coca Cola) for 29 years.  He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 170 for over 70 years.  He was especially proud to be a member of the Uxbridge Legion Pipes and Drums for over 40 years.

He cherished his time spent and friendships built with the many people in Haliburton Forest.

Thanks go out to Dr. Brian St. John and the many health care professionals who assisted in his care. Special thanks to Val Savage for the many home visits to assist in his comfort and care.

As per Don's wishes there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 170 in Uxbridge.
