JOHNS, Edward “Papa Ted” - After a courageous battle with cancer, Ted’s suffering has ended.
Passed away peacefully on March 31, 2018 in his 83rd year, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Loving husband of Marion, aka “The Caygeon Queen,” as he affectionately referred to her.
Caring father of Patti Collins, Paul (Melissa) and proud Papa of Taylor, Shane, Nicholas and Jordyn.
He will be deeply missed by his sister Beverly Marner (Bill), Aunt Nonie, Bob and Doreen Brewster and his many close friends, acquaintances and all he crossed paths with throughout his journey.
Ted was a lover of many things. He was an avid gardener and a self-proclaimed crokinole champion. He enjoyed playing golf in the Retired Men’s League and went to Myrtle Beach for many years with his friends. One of his most cherished memories is playing ball with the Gray Jays.
Join the family at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Rd, Whitby, 289-278-3784 for Visitation on Tuesday April 3rd from 4:00 - 8:00pm and for Funeral Service on Wednesday April 4th at 3:00pm, followed by interment and reception.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Salvation Army.
