MOORE, Leona (Murphy) - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother on May 3, 2018.
Mom went to be with her Lord in her 97th year after a difficult struggle with dementia.
Predeceased by her cherished husband Burt of 68 years.
Loving Mom to Carol, Peter (Janie) and Nancy (Colin).
Treasured Grandma to Cameron and proud Great-Grandma to Casper.
Leona will also be missed by her sister(Winnifred), sister-in-law (Betty), as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Leona was dedicated to her family, church and community since settling in Uxbridge in 1945.
Her many talents of smocking, sewing and quilting were evident through all her teaching and fundraising events for Trinity United Church.
The family wishes to thank all of those who supported us in caring for Mom at home for the past 3 years – Drs., Nurses, PSW’s and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
If desired, donations in memory of Leona may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
