LEA, Ferdinando Carmelo - With heartfelt sorrow the family of Ferdinando Lea announces his passing on Saturday May 12th, 2018 in his 85th year, with his children by his side at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville.
Beloved husband of the late Rosetta.
Loving father of Gabriel (Michelle), Saverina ‘Serina’ Mayberry (Stephen), and Fred (Monique).
Dearest Nonno of Bianca, Julian, Katarina, Matthew, Christian and Brennan.
Adored brother of Antonia Canonico, Maria Scimone, and Lydia Graziosi and predeceased by Alfredo Lea and Josephine Dorian.
Dear brother-in-law to Frank (Anna) Cupelli, Tonino (Lia), Emilio (Ornella), and Rosalba (Franco) Catalano in Italy, and the late Eda (Franco) Minichini. Ferdinando will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, their families and many long-time friends.
Ferdinando was a licensed carpenter in Italy and after moving to Canada he began working at Sklar Furniture. His passions were family time, celebrations and playing the violin. He was a proud member of the community and the Oshawa Italian Recreation Club.
Resting at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905) 433-4711, for Visitation on Tuesday May 15th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church (373 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa) on Wednesday May 16th at 10:30am. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum in Whitby.
A special thanks to the staff and support workers at Season’s Retirement Home in Bowmanville for making Ferdinando’s stay so meaningful.
The family would also like to thank the emergency nursing staff at Lakeridge Health in Bowmanville for their kindness and support.
