Collins RaymondCOLLINS, Raymond Harold Collins - December 18, 1932 – June 25, 2018

Died peacefully at home after a long illness, surrounded by loved ones.

Beloved husband, dad and grandpa.

Ray’s sweet nature, generosity of spirit, kindness, and great sense of humour will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ray was raised in Whitby, then moved to Toronto as a young man where he started work at the Canadian National Railroad.

For over thirty years he owned and ran a successful insurance brokerage.

Music was an important part of Ray's life.

He was an active member of a Barbershop Chorus in Etobicoke for 17 years. He also loved to play his piano daily.

Ray also enjoyed traveling, tending his garden, and spending time with his many friends.   It was very important to him to attend his annual Whitby high school reunions. Ray was known for his joke telling and always had a good one liner on hand. He was ever cheerful and optimistic and was always fun to be around.

After becoming a widower in 2012, he married his childhood sweetheart.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife Carole, loving daughters Susan (Sam) and Shari (Alex, Jessica, Nick), nephew Jay, niece Lori (Serge), and his wonderful caregivers Raquel, Christine, Carolina, and Lailah.

Funeral to be held Thursday, June 28th at 12:30 p.m. at the All Saints’ Anglican Church, 300 Dundas Street West, Whitby, with visiting one hour prior at the church.

Interment to follow at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY.
