MADDIGAN, John Maddigan  - On Tuesday, July 24, 2018, John Francis Maddigan passed away suddenly at the age of 47 years.

John will forever be remembered as a much loved husband and best friend of his wife Jennifer, a loving and dedicated step-father of Ethan and Owen, cherished son to Lois and Richard, dear brother of Paul (Marilyn) and Anne Marie, favorite Uncle to Kaitlyn (Kim & Rian), Meaghan (Lauren) and Nathaniel.

Much loved son-in-law and brother-in-law and uncle to Bruce and Joanne, James and Shin Hye and Jason and Alyson, Clare and Forrest.

John will also forever be remembered by his large extended family, many friends, and co-workers.

John’s zest for life, his smile, and laughter, and penchant for living each and every moment was infectious to those around him, whether it be while he was with his family, while working as a nurse on the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Toronto General Hospital, while cheering on Ethan and Owen at the hockey rink or on ball diamond, or out on the lake fishing. His gentle, funny, passionate, compassionate, kind and caring spirit will never be forgotten.

Visitation with the family will take place Friday July 27th from 7pm – 9pm at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at Garnet B Rickard Recreation Complex, 2440 Highway 2, Bowmanville, on Saturday July 28th at 11 am, with visitation from 10am – 11am.

Additional parking will be available surrounding the facility such as the high school and the municipal lot north west of the complex.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the Honour Your Hero: Medical Surgical ICU at Toronto General Hospital.

Pamphlets and envelopes will be available at the Visitation and Celebration of Life.
