Loving mother of Madleine (Ron Crawford), Alfred, May, Marguerite, Marianne, Mary Rose, Judy, Marleine (Thomas Baker), Thomas, Milly (John Graham), Marshell (Murray Yutrunkie) and predeceased by her son George (Pat). Jessie will be sadly missed by her family, friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held at JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, North York Chapel, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto (south of Steeles Avenue) on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 10 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation.

On Monday, May 20, 2013 at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville, Elaine went peacefully to be with the Lord at the age of 61.

She will be missed by her husband Doug of 36 years and her daughters Melissa and her husband Tim Hanna and Rebecca and her husband Mike Gritton.

Elaine was grandmother to newly born Declan Thomas Hanna on May 5th.

She is survived by her mother Edna Henderson and predeceased by her father Thomas Henderson. Sister of Caryll Beech and aunt to Derek Beech.

Memorial Service out of Newcastle, on Friday, May 24th.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Newcastle Fellowship Baptist Church (Building Fund).

Born March 4th 1923, he proudly served his country in World War II with the Ontario Regiment Armoured Division and was a long standing member of the Whitby Legion # 112.

He had a long and good life.

Beloved husband of the late Isabel, predeceased by his brother Douglas and his sister Betty, survived by his son Patrick (Catherine) and his two daughters Donna (Terrance) and Michele (Leo). Also by his 6 grandchildren Adam, Heather, Colin, Shane, Patrick and Megan and his two great -grandchildren Audrey-Rose and Poppy.

Alexander Brown will be resting at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013 from 7pm to 9pm and Thursday, May 23rd, 2013 from10am to 11am with service to follow.

Passed away at 9:30 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the wonderful age of 89.

She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Black (1962) and later by her husband Ray Dow (2009).

Though her memory may have been diminished in her later years, Gwyneth always had a great warm smile that lit up for all who came to visit, and never tired of hearing how sisters, brothers, sons, daughters-in-law, nieces and nephews and grandchildren were faring. Gwyneth is survived by her two sons (Douglas Black and Richard Black), six grandchildren (Sarah, Rebecca, Ben, Pat, Alden and Celeste), two sisters (Jean Hanna and Shirley Edwards) and her brother (Phil Bennett).

Visitation will be from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m., and again from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23rd at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. West, Oshawa.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, at the same address, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gwyneth's name to a charity that is special to you (she always said there was nothing she needed).

A private burial will take place later in the day at the Belleville Cemetery.

After 90 happy fulfilling years, our father peacefully passed away Sunday, May 19th, 2013, surrounded by his two loving sons Ronnie & Billy.

Albert was born in Oshawa in 1922 to George and Anne Harris (nee Starr).

Dad served in the army where he met and married Marjorie Dobson of Debert, Nova Scotia.

They returned to Oshawa and built their house together in 1955. Sons Ronnie & Billy were born in 1958 and 1960. Mom & Dad enjoyed many great holiday destinations, and their trailer in Beautiful Buckhorn for many years. They also enjoyed the Foresters for dancing, camping, bowling and met many many great lifelong friends.

Dad "The Shark" enjoyed Euchre and played for many years.

Predeceased by his wife Marjorie, who will be interred also. Albert is survived by two older sisters and his two loving sons.

Dad was loved by all who met him. Thanks to all those friends who made Dad's life more fun!

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, May 21st from 7 – 9 p.m.

Pat Reid was in her 69th year.

Pat leaves behind many cousins throughout Canada and the United States.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at Thorntonview Nursing Home, the tremendous love and care you gave to Pat over the past 26 years was sincerely appreciated by her family.

Loving wife of and predeceased by her husbands Gerald Verwey and Peter de Leeuw. 

Beloved mother of Josee and Paul (Karen), and the late Elise.  Special grandmother of eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Trudy will be greatly missed by her seven sisters and their families in Canada and Holland.  Predeceased by a sister, her three brothers and close family friend Father Joe. 

Trudy possessed a warmth and sparkle that endeared her to family and many friends.  They will her brave devotion, kindness and helpfulness to others.

Phyllis passed away peacefully on May 17, 2013, at Lakeview Manor, Beaverton, in her 99th year.

Beloved wife of the late Charlie Brandon.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her entire family: her daughter Doris Stewart (Ron), and her son Bruce (Elaine), her grandchildren Jeff (Robin predeceased) and Jason (Nicole) Stewart, Susan (Gord) Weatherup, Heather (Jonathan) DeSouza, Catherine and Scott Brandon, and her great-grandchildren, Shandel and Jordan Stewart, Nathan and Jacob Stewart, Shannon, Cole, and Brandon Weatherup, and Rilla DeSouza.  Phyllis is survived by her sister Kay Roberts, and predeceased by her brothers Bob, Jack and Jim Radford, and her sisters, infant Mary Radford (1925) and Dorothy Ash.  She will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews in both Radford and Brandon families. 

Phyllis was born in Todmorden, then raised on a farm near Ballantrae where she became a valued hired girl in many neighbouring homes.  In 1945 she and Charlie moved to Uxbridge where he operated the Shell Service Station for 18 years. 

Phyllis was a volunteer nurse at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital and a devoted member of the Church of Christ at Pine Orchard.  Phyllis was a talented landscape painter and a life-long reader, diarist, and scrapbook maker. 

In 2003, she completed her memoirs “Early Days in Ballantrae.”  She was a beloved and tremendously supportive grandma and great grandma, and she loved to entertain neighbours and friends in her home. 

The family wishes to thank Mom’s friends who visited and the professional caregivers who treated her so lovingly at Lakeview Manor. 

Service in Uxbridge on Monday, May 20th.

John spent many years as a Boy Scout, Cub Leader (Brooklin), was a successful racing pigeon flyer. A man skilled with his tools in building his barn, coops and restoring his heritage home and property (Brooklin).

Weild_JackSurrounded by loving family, Jack Wield passed away after a brief illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday May 17, 2013 in his 63rd year.

Beloved husband to Janette of 41 years.

Loving and devoted father to Kirsty (Christopher) and Fiona. He leaves behind, two brothers, Stuart and James (Lynn). Son-in-Law of Janet Simpson.

Jack was a retired Police Officer of the Toronto Police Services after 34 years of service and was also a dedicated member of the Toronto Police Pipe Band for over 35 years.

A special thank you to the staff of C6 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their compassionate care and support.

Friends are invited to celebrate Jack’s life on Thursday May 23, 2013 at St. Mark’s United Church at 201 Centre Street South, Whitby, Ontario L1N 4V7. Visitation from 1-2pm followed by a memorial celebration at 2pm. Reception to follow in the church hall.

Baker_DrJohnIt is with utmost sadness and heartache that we announce the sudden passing of Jack on May 16th, 2013, in his 64th year.

Jack was a man of travel, and he passed away enjoying life during holidays with his wife in Whistler, British Columbia.

 Raised in Carleton Place, Ontario Jack was the long time high school sweetheart, best friend, and husband of Donna.

Jack was the heart and soul of his family, and leaves behind his three children Courtney (David Howie), John, Victoria (Joe Papik), and mother-in-law, Mae Johnson.

He will be endlessly missed by his two young grandchildren Carson and Vivienne Howie, and his furry four-legged pal “Rod”.

Jack leaves behind sisters and brothers, and many nieces and nephews in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver, and his wonderful staff who worked beside him everyday.

Life has been stolen from Jack too soon, but his love and passion for his family and friends will live on forever.

Eric was his children’s number 1 supporter in Oshawa Minor Hockey, Whitby Minor Lacrosse and the Oshawa Figure Skating Club, and he was proud of his children with all of their accomplishments.
