CORNECT, Damien John - 

Age 63, of Brooklin, Ontario passed away on Friday April 26, 2013 at the Oshawa General Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Damien was born in Cape St. George, Newfoundland on August 25, 1949.   He married the love of his love of his life, Jean, in 1972 and they lived in Kippens, Newfoundland where they raised their three daughters.

Damien cherished his family above all and fought valiantly to stay with them. He was the most loving Poppa to his two adoring granddaughters Danika & Makenna and a devoted and supportive father to his three daughters.

Anyone who knows Damien will agree he was the life of every gathering and loved nothing more than get-togethers where he could play his guitar and tell jokes. Damien was happiest when he was around people and was always ready for a party.

Although Damien left Newfoundland to work, his heart remained on the island and he cherished his visits “home."  He was a true Newfoundlander and everyone who met him felt a connection to his music and his spirit. Life will never be the same for many people now that Damien has left us, but we will find strength in our memories.

Damien was predeceased by his parents Felix and Mary Cornect, his brother Martin and sister, Peggy. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Jean, his daughters: Nadene (Emmett) Houston, Nicole (Nigel) Cole, and Renee (fiancé Steve) Cornect; granddaughters: Danika and Makenna Houston, brothers: Felix, Wade and Randy Cornect, sister: Betty Simon, and many extended family members and friends.

After a brief but courageous battle, Gene passed away peacefully at age 68 on April 26, 2013.

Survived by Lynda (nee Rundle), his beloved wife and best friend of 45 years.

Adored by his daughter Lisa, son-in-law Colin Simpson and his granddaughter Finley, lovingly known to her Papa as 'Schooch.' Cherished by his son Derek, daughter-in-law Willow, grandson Nicholas and granddaughter Janina.

Will be greatly missed by in-laws Anne & John Fair, Grace & Dennis O'Dowd and Larraine Supryka. Remembered fondly by nieces and nephews Aaron, Jason & Blair, Jeff & Jennifer, Ryan, Brendan & Allison. Respected by his many co-workers, teammates, neighbours and friends, especially "the Amigos".

Predeceased by his father Adam, mother Janina, his brother Adam and father and mother-in-law Albert and Irene Rundle.

Gene was an avid sportsman throughout his life and was active in hockey, baseball, racquetball, and bowling. Since retiring, his focus shifted to golf and he enjoyed many fine times with his buddies in the WAGs, the Wednesday Warriors and the CAW retirees league. As well, Gene enjoyed working out at the gym and on most days, after his retirement, you could find him training at the NRG / Body Boomers fitness centre.

Visitation will be held at the DESTEFANO FUNERAL HOME, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, ON, (south side of Taunton Rd, one block east of Thornton Rd.) on Wednesday, May 1st from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, May 2nd at 1:00 pm, followed by interment at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa.

Passed away peacefully on Monday April 22, 2013 in Port Hope ON.

Beloved mother to Florence, William, Ron, Brian, Wayne, Eric and predeceased by Gordon.

Anna was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents and brothers Robert and Albert Roy and her sister Irene Royal.

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Monday, April 22, 2013 in her 96th year.

Judy, beloved wife of the late Ed Loberg.

Amazing mother of Norm (Carol) Loberg, Ann (Jim) Hilborn and Lynda Loberg.  Proud grandmother of Bryan Loberg, Liz (Steve) Burns, Chris (Paula) Hilborn, Michael (Anissa) Hilborn and great-grandmother of Hailey, Jake, Mackenzie, Adam, Elia and Luca.

Judy was born in Vancouver BC and raised in Kamloops. She lived in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Trier Germany and Ridgeway. She was a woman ahead of her time.

During her lifetime she was involved in a variety of activities; Chair of Red Feather, President of K-Ladies, first woman Chair of the Niagara Chamber of Commerce and first female Director of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Life Member of Zonta International, Director of the Niagara Rehab Centre and owner of The Elizabeth House of Fashion in Niagara Falls.

She was a proud recipient of the Order of Niagara from the Anglican Church. During her 59 years of marriage to Eddie, when she wasn’t travelling the world she was busy tending to her gardens.

A Celebration of Life will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 149 South Mill Street, Ridgeway, ON on Sunday, April 28th at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to All Saints Anglican Church or the CHARITY of choice would be appreciated.

It is with both sadness and a sense of peace that the family announces the passing of Colin, at the age of 85.

Sadness at the loss of an incredible man loved deeply by so many, but peace in the knowledge that he is now with his Lord and Saviour.

Colin was the beloved husband and best friend of Cathy for 62 years.

Loving father and father-in-law of Peter and Lynn, Bonnie and Ken, and Stephen and Cathy. Cherished grandfather of Courtney (James), Matthew (Amber), Rebecca, Sarah (Randy), Christopher and Benjamin (Tasha). Great-grandfather to Ethan and Charlotte.

Colin was an ordained minister in the United Church of Canada, who dedicated his life to bringing others into a personal relationship with Christ. He was a gifted artist, loved music and enjoyed travelling with Cathy.

Colin lived a life built on integrity, faith, selflessness and later in life courage and perseverance in the face of great physical challenges.

The family of Colin wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of the ICU at Ajax/Pickering Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care.
