Jane will be missed by her loving husband Cam, and daughters Carrie (Nick) Fanai, and Sarah (Daryl) MacDonald. Adored grandmother to Carson, Damon, Emmitt, Miller, and Wesley.

Cherished sister of Jim (Beth), and Ann (Don). Jane will be dearly missed by extended family and friends.

 

Johnson JudithJOHNSON, Judith (Marcus) - (December 6, 1938 - April 21, 2017) -

Peacefully on April 21, 2017 with her family at her side at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus after a courageous battle with ALS.

Judith was the beloved wife of the late Geoff Johnson (1999), loving mother of Chris Johnson (Wendy), Pam Churchill (Tim) and Matt Johnson, cherished grandma of Madison, Gillian, Jackson, Larissa and Calliope and dear sister of David and Stephen Marcus and the late Kenneth Marcus. Judith will be remembered by her dear friend Murray McEwen.

 

Brittle JaneBRITTLE, Jane MacPherson (nee Shepherd) - Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the age of 89.

Predeceased by her first husband Ernest J. Brittle (1978) and second husband Cedric Piggot (2015).

Loving mother of John Brittle and his wife Mary (nee Maida), the late Ralph Brittle and the late Adrienne Archer. Cherished grandma of Matthew Archer, Sacha Archer (Rui Xin) and Jack Brittle and great grandma of Alexie Archer and Charley Archer.

 

Wilkinson StuartWILKINSON, William 'Stuart' - In his own words “Wow! What a life, how could I have been so lucky? I exceeded every goal I had as a kid growing up in Newfoundland. I married a fantastic girl who gave me five fantastic children who gave me twelve fantastic grandchildren. Cornerbrook Newfoundland was a very special place to grow up.”

Following a final year of travel and visiting with his far-flung family, he passed April 20, 2017 at the age of 83, peacefully in his own home.

Born in Cornerbrook, NL on August 17, 1933, Stuart studied engineering in Halifax where he met and fell in love with Carroll Fraser at Hubbard's Beach. Moving to Ontario in 1958, Carroll and Stuart married in 1959.

 

GOVIER, Paul Alexander - Passed away suddenly at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the age of 62.

Paul will be deeply missed by his sons; Aaron (Rebecca), Ryan (Tara) and Dustin, his adoring grandchildren Dakota, Emily, Stone, Maze, Gracie and Abbey.

He is survived by his siblings; Bruce, Wesley (Linda), Richard and Catherine and their families.  Paul will be missed by his special friend Dena and the Woodhead family, and by his extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Virginia, and his sister-in-law Linda.

 

Liparoti VeliaFITTIPALDI-LIPAROTI, Velia - Velia was born on January 5th, 1937 at Roggiano Gravina, Provincia di Cosenza, Italy. At the young age of 19, she left her beloved Italy to start a new life with her husband Luigi in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Velia was a very devoted, loving person with not a bad word for anyone. Her main focus in life was to ensure that her two daughters Carmela and Laura had everything they needed. She and Luigi enjoyed 61 years of marriage and she always put her family before herself.

A seamstress by trade, when she came to Canada she worked in the Fashion District of Spadina. She was an amazing dressmaker who always sewed to perfection.

 

Jackson MarinaJACKSON, Marina - (September 16, 1935 - April 20, 2017) - Sadly our family announces the passing of Marina at the age of 81.

Predeceased by her husband Ernie in 1997.

Mom of Richard and Colleen, Kelly and Paul Bearder and Lori Thiel. Grandma of Teresa, Cory and Casey, Darcy and Katie, Kyle, Ryan. Fondly remembered by brother in law Lorne Cutts, nieces and nephews and friends from Sedgewick.

 

Berendt JulieBERENDT, Julie Marie - (1966 - 2017) - Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, on April 19, 2017, at the age of 50.

Beloved wife of Ted Chuckmala. Devoted mother to Dean and Ava.

Cherished daughter of Wally Berendt and the late Rose Berendt. Dear sister to Katherine Berendt (Gary Ostoich) and Chris Berendt (Kathleen Irish).

 

Salmini VinceSALMINI, Vincenzo 'Vince' - Died on April 19, 2017 at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was a dedicated family man who took great pride in raising his children Matthew and Emily with his wife Linda. Vince’s family and friends knew him as a strong, kind and generous person who was always there for others and ready to lend a hand.

Vince was passionate about music and he started to entertain people as a disc jockey when he was just 14 years old. Since then, he has enhanced countless special occasions for people with his talent and entertainment.

 

Cordingley BobCORDINGLEY, Robert Vernon 'Bob' - Passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital, April 19, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer, in his 71st year, with his wife Donna (Leitch) of 23 years, by his side.

Father to Jeff and Jennifer Cordingley, both of Calgary. Survived by his brothers, Tom (Pat), Ted (Nancy), and his sister Lois (Dwight).

Predeceased by his parents Vernon and Margaret, and his sister Marilyn (2017). Missed by many brother and sister-in-laws, sadly missed by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

 

Rowe LilyROWE, Lily (nee Wood) - Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the age of 92.

Beloved wife of the late Frederick Rowe (2000).

Loving mother of Lesley Roach and her husband John. Predeceased by her son Douglas (2013). Cherished grandmother of Douglas Jr., Frederick, Tara and Reba.

 

HERREBOS, John - Peacefully at Sunset Manor, Collingwood, on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, John, formerly of Burlington, and Saskatchewan, at the age of 93.

Beloved husband of the late Fennechien “Fennie” (nee Sloots).

John will be sadly missed by his loving companion Jean Fish and her family, David, Dennis, Ivan, Wayne and Sandra. He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families in Saskatchewan and Alberta and his friends in Burlington.

He was predeceased by his siblings; Fred, Ann, Lena and Louise.

Favreau SheilaFAVREAU, Sheila M. - (July 18, 1923 - April 19, 2017) -

Sheila was born July 18, 1923 in St. John’s Newfoundland, and as a little girl she always wondered what was beyond “the Narrows” from St. John’s harbour, and that wonder grew to a great love of travel.

She had six siblings, and together they had a very happy childhood and were fiercely loyal to each other. As a little girl, she was given the task of carrying the camera case. Her mother was quite the photographer, which led to her keeping many of the family photographs, and becoming the historian in the family along with her sister Eleanor.

As a new bride, when her husband went overseas with the RCAF, she spent time in New York, working on Wall St. while living with her older sister Mary. She made the best of her time there, going to musicals, visiting historic Virginia, and Radio City Music hall.

Maria is predeceased by her husband of over 55 years, John (Papa to the kids), brothers Martin, Tone, Ignac and Ivan and sisters Tereza and Ancka.

 

DI BON, Carol (nee BELSKY) - Died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ontario, at the age of 66 after several courageous battles with cancer.

Born August 26, 1950 in Port-Cartier, Quebec, Carol was predeceased by her parents William and Carmel (nee Therriault) Belsky.

Carol is survived by her loving husband Erio of almost 45 years. They were married on October 7, 1972 in Toronto.

 

Rodgers RitaRODGERS, Rita - Rita passed away peacefully at home in Hamilton surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the age of 88.

Born in Glasgow Scotland, Rita came to Canada in 1967. She worked in Reitmans before going to work at the Henderson General Hospital. Having lived in Burlington for about 25 years, Rita had recently relocated back to Hamilton to be closer to her Family.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Jane Rodgers and by her sister Jean Anderson (David) in Orillia, Canada, and her brother William "Billy" (Ruth) in Ulverstone, Tasmania.

Rita is survived by her her three children Rosslyn Devlin (Mike) in Glasgow, Scotland, Alison Danner (Wilf) in Hamilton and Kenneth Macalpine (Sarah) in Dundas.

 

STAFFORD, Carl Claude Dexter - Passed away at his home in Burlington, Ontario on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, Carl Stafford at the age of 77.

Fondly remembered by his wife, Audrey, daughter, Tracy Hobson (Jamie), grandchildren, Sydney, Samantha and Lindsay.

Beloved wife of George Bogdanis for nearly 52 years. Loving mother of Valerie (Rudy) Perosin and Adrianna Bogdanis. Proud grandmother of Kaitlyn Perosin.

Taylor JackTAYLOR, Jack Matthew - (December 19, 1933 - April 18, 2017) - Died after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Sandra and three children, Sidney (Brad), Stuart (Kara) and Shelby along with six grandchildren, Henry, Samuel, Islay, Violet, Philippa, and Augusta, and a sister, Anita Taylor of Vancouver.

Jack was a life-long lover of travel, golf, and hockey, having played hockey in university at Hamilton College in New York and Waterloo College (now University of Western) in Waterloo. He travelled to Europe and the Far East many times and was particularly fond of the Swiss Alps.

Jack graduated from Waterloo where he met Sandra and after graduation, taught high school business skills.

Survived by his sisters, Catharina (Tini) and Anne; his children, Nicholas (Louise), Elisabeth Challinor (John II) and Linda Todd (Michael); his grandchildren, Alan, Eric and Nicole Kaarsemaker, Christopher and Elizabeth Todd and Ashley and John Challinor III; and his great-grandchildren, Avery, Tegan and A.J.
