Lacombe NormLACOMBE, Norman Joseph - Peacefully passed away on October 7, 2017 at the age of 87.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years Jan (Budz), his children Larry (Lynn), Kelly (Jim) and grandchildren Christopher and Megan.

Norm had a passion for the outdoor life. He enjoyed many years at the cottage and at his secret fishing spot. The Pointe Au Baril (Shawanaga) area will not be the same without him.

 

Gothe LiselotteGOTHE, Elisabeth Charlotte Martha 'Liselotte' (Altendorf) - Liselotte Gothe of Georgetown, Ontario, "Oma" to her extended family, and a friend to everyone she met, passed away quietly in her sleep at Georgetown Hospital on Saturday, October 7, 2017 after a short illness.

Oma just recently celebrated her 95th birthday by having a family luncheon at Whole Foods.

Elisabeth Charlotte Martha Liselotte Altendorf was born in Mainz, Germany on September 3, 1922 to a large family of 8 children. She became a high school physical education teacher for boys in Berlin and always made sure she could do herself whatever she asked the boys to do, whether it was ball sports, athletics, gymnastics, or swimming.

She met her husband Gunther Gothe at a dance. Soon they became friends and were married on June 24, 1950.  They immigrated to Canada in 1957, where Gunther became a Professional Engineer with Canadian National Telecommunications.

 

GARCIA, Manuel Alberto - Born November 19, 1934. Passed peacefully on Saturday October 7, 2017 at 11:07pm at Wyndham Manor - Extendicare in Oakville, surrounded by his family.

He will be sadly missed by his son Manny Garcia Jr. 

Manuel is survived by his loving wife Maria Gorette, Grandsons Joshua and Nicholas, his brother Jose Vieira Garcia and sisters Maria Angelina Alvernaz and Mariahelena Silveira.

John was a Professional Engineer who worked for Stelco for 45 years in the metallurgical department, where he designed and patented the electrolytic macroetcher for the quality testing of cast steel. He subsequently consulted with Hatch on world-wide installations of this equipment and was actively involved in the ASTM for many years.

June passed away suddenly, at Milton District Hospital, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the age of 86. After a courageous battle with congestive heart failure and kidney failure she passed peacefully.

Predeceased by her husband Lorne (2009). Loving mother of Lisa Doberthien of B.C. and Leann Hamilton of Milton. She was the much loved “Nana” to Dean and Danielle.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Jacqueline Blow and nieces Jennifer and Catherine (Ken) and their families.

 

McPhaden NormanMcPHADEN, Norman Allen - Passed away on Thursday October 5th, 2017 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with his beloved wife of 60 years, Elva, by his side.

Norman was the loving father of John and his wife Marie and Richard and his wife Marcelle. He was the proud Grandpa of Paul, Cameron, Stephen, Heather, Dalton and Brian.

A longtime resident of Oakville, his friends will remember a quiet man who had a deep faith, most recently attending Central Baptist Church. Norman completed his career at Petro Canada’s Clarkson refinery, enjoyed time at the cottage on Bob’s Lake and was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Grace was born May 28, 1933 in Oldcastle (Windsor). Still residing there are her brother Harold (whose wife Monica, one of Grace’s dearest friends, passed in June), and brother Albert (Phyllis).

Grace was predeceased by brothers Bill (Barb), Benny and Allan. Also in Windsor are many much loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Grace will be lovingly remembered by special and supportive friends, Carol and Barry Burne, Maureen Morgan, Joan Mathers and Pat Parrott. She will also be fondly remembered by her many Toronto and Milton friends and colleagues. Grace will live on in the heart and memory of her beloved Godson, Matthew Parrott, with whom she shared a very special bond.

Grace taught for over 40 years in Toronto, London and Milton. She was one of the first itinerant teachers who offered support to integrated deaf students in schools across the province.
