Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 25, 2015, in his 89th year.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee DeKany) Kerekes for 58 years.

Loved and sadly missed by son George and his wife Karen.

Cherished Grandpa of Brendon, Alicia, and Matthew. Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1926, Jeno moved to England in 1956.

As a chef, a major highlight of his career was cooking at Buckingham Palace for the Queen Mother prior to coming to Canada in 1968. Jeno spent most of his career working with the Holiday Inn Corporation throughout the Oakville, Burlington, and Hamilton area until he retired in 1987.

He was an avid European soccer and Toronto Blue Jays fan and was a certified Ontario referee for many years. Jeno was a proud husband, father, and grandfather whose main source of enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

Service will be held in Burlington, on Friday January 30th. Interment to follow.

It is with great sadness that the family of Violet announce her passing peacefully at the age of 84.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Adolph (Lyn Ten Sue), son, Robert and her parents, Lily and James Chen (Kee-Onn). Devoted mother of: Ann (Paul Hoo), Mercedes (Anthony Cheong), Mark (Donna Williams-Lyn), Valerie, Angela (Stephen Hoo), Sharon and Monique (Mark Gromek).

Loving grandmother of: Kevin (Helen Hogan), Terence, Belinda, Jeremy, Craig, Yannick, Veronica and Aidan.

Cherished sister of: Tsang, Tin-Sau (Yip Wan) and Rudolph Chen.

Will be deeply missed by many extended family and friends.

Mass will be on Saturday, January 31st, at St. Matthew's Parish, 1150 Monks Passage , Oakville , ON.

Comfortably at Allendale Long Term Care on Sunday January 25, 2015, Hilda slipped away to join Jim, her husband of 67 years.

Missing her with all their hearts are Diana Lyle and David and Lisa Lyle.

Godchildren and grandchildren Lisa and Kelsey Lyle. Hilda will also be dearly missed by her many cherished friends.

Glass_JohnEarly Saturday morning, January 24th, 2015 John joined his son Elliott (2011) in the heavenly kingdom of Jesus Christ his Lord. John was 70 years old, an age he thought he'd never see when cancer hit him 12 years ago.

God granted his desire to die at home in the loving care of his wife Bonnie.

He leaves behind his two beautiful daughters Sarah Perkin (David) and Adriana MacLennan (Rod), and two precious granddaughters Olivia Perkin and Evangeline MacLennan.

Predeceased by his father Robert John Glass and mother Bernice Marguerite Glass (Cross).

He will be sadly missed by his brother Jim Glass (Cathy), his sisters Sharon Allen (Bill) and Jennifer Glass (Ted Ives), and his nephews and nieces, Mark, Jason, Paul, Scott, Krista and Hilary.

John will be remembered as a truly unique, colourful character who was born talking and social to the bone. He was lovable, an irascible rascal, always wired and plugged in to all life had to offer. He leaves a large space in the life of his family.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation in Georgetown on Wednesday January 28th. Interment to follow in May at Glen Williams.

Loving mother to Martin (Tatyana), David (Leticia), Murray (Sara), Julie Carswell (David), Gregory (Cecilia). Adoring Nana to 9 grandchildren, Leanne, Max (Maggy), Stephanie, Katie, Julia, Vanessa, Precious, Victoria and Michael Albert and 2 great-grandchildren Chloie and Chloé.

Remembered fondly by sister-in-laws Mary Artuso (John), Jean Zotter and brother-in-law Henry Doseger (Doreen).

Predeceased by brothers Claude Wilhelm (Theresa), Gerald Wilhelm (Phylis) and sister-in-law Rose Doseger. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ruth graduated from St. Joseph`s School of Nursing in Guelph in 1954 and enjoyed a rewarding career with VON. She was also a long time volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society.

Special thanks to Dr. Procter, Dr. Borden and the staff at JBH.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church 4072 New Street Burlington. Cremation to follow.

Bruce was the beloved husband for 61 years of Joan (nee: Harper), and dear father of Jack Miller and Linda (Steven Ranson) of Georgetown. Dear grandfather of Charlie, Sarah, Jacob, Tori, Sydney and Brad, and great grandfather to Kylie. Dear brother of Charles (Evelyn) Miller of Leamington, Reta Jane (Bob Griffin) of Sarnia, and Ann Miller of North Bay.

Bruce is predeceased by his parents Harry and Beatrice Miller of Watford, brother John of North Bay, sister Lena (Dan Smith) of Port Dover. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was the Marketing Service Manager with Burroughs Welcome Pharmaceutical Company, Pointe Claire, Quebec, for 35 years. He was also a Pharmacist with Pharmaplus, Trenton (1987-1991) and Herbies, Kingston (1991-2003).

As per Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements out of Georgetown.

Predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth (2001), brothers Donald and Oakland, sisters-in law Marion and Mary, brothers-in law Raymond and Charles.

She is survived and leaves to mourn her sisters Marjorie Butler, Helen Doan and brother Howard (Evelyn). Her sisters in law Norma (Harry-deceased) and Susan (Tony). Also to mourn are many nieces and nephews.

Millie also leaves behind her children Pat (Dave) Marshment, Craig (Susan) Bennison, Anne (Badri) Rickhi, Susan (Steve) Mosey, grandchildren Robin (Scott), Jason, Sarah Jane (Jason), Kristy (Doug), Dane, Anil, Darshan, Jeffrey (Olivia), Kenny (Sarah) Great-grandchildren Benjamin, Isabelle, Kaia, Leila, Isla and Nicky.

Millie was a generous, kindhearted woman, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She took great pride in her role of homemaker always providing her family and guests with delicious homemade meals and a welcoming home. She was quick to cheer someone up or offer support with her compassion or if the situation called for it, a bit of humour.

The family would like to thank the staff at Waterford for their kindness and caring.

A private cremation and interment will be held for the immediate family. A celebration of Millie’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements out of Oakville.

Albert was a longtime retiree of Westinghouse, with 30 years of service.

Gregory_DonSgt. RCAF WWII.  Peacefully at The Brant Centre Long Term Care Residence in Burlington, Ontario on January 23, 2015, Don Gregory passed into his new life.

A local boy who never forgot his roots, Don was able to recount great memories throughout his life. Born in Burlington on June 18, 1922 and a lifetime resident, Don was predeceased by his loving and gracious wife Sylvia (Wallhouse) in 2010 and by his parents William and Winifred Gregory, sister Millicent and brother Albert.

His determination and fortitude were admired by his family and he will be missed by his children Donna McGreal (Jim), Burlington; Wendy Gregory-Harlow (Ron), Nanaimo, BC; Victoria Fitton (Frank), Brown’s Bay, BC; and David Gregory (Margaret), Hamilton. Kindly remembered by grandchildren Kelly (Chris), Debbie (Jeremy), Lisa (Steve), Lane (Miranda), Derek (Marissa), Shane (Brandi), Kala (Dave), Deanna (Ryan), Sarah and Daniel and by several great-grandchildren.

In his early years, Don attended Burlington Central Public and High Schools. He played minor league hockey for the local team and worked diligently delivering produce for local farmers as well as delivering groceries by bicycle from the downtown grocery store to the town residents.

At 18 years of age he joined the RCAF, was trained in communications and was sent overseas to the south of England during World War II. He was awarded the British Empire Medal for his exemplary contribution to the war. He met Sylvia in Hastings, they were married overseas and returned to Burlington after the war. He then enrolled and graduated in Electrical Engineering from Ryerson Institute.

Don was the owner of Gregory Radio on Brant Street which he opened in 1948. It was his privilege to serve the people of Burlington when he expanded the business from radio to small and major appliances, TV and later colour TV. For many years he had the only “Record Bar” in town which was frequented by his many customers and was a popular place for local teens on Saturdays.

Don was an avid golfer and was a past and very active member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club where he won the senior men's championship two years in a row. He was also an avid gardener and his roses won several civic awards and we all thoroughly enjoyed his crop of tomatoes every year. The restoration of the Freeman Train Station in Burlington was of special interest to Don and he was happy to receive his Lifetime Membership certificate in 2014.

Arrangements out of Burlington. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.

Special gratitude is extended to the loving and caring staff at Park Avenue Manor, especially Janine Jaconelli and the Appleby wing staff at the Brant Centre in Burlington. Loving and kind caregiver, Ellenor Tisch, will never be forgotten and the family owes her a debt of gratitude.

It is with a heavy heart and a profound sense of loss that we the family of Annie Lightle have to say goodbye to our beautiful mother. Annie passed way surrounded by her family at the Trillium Health Centre on January 23, 2015 at the age of 73.

She was the loving wife of John for 47 years and the cherished mother of Elizabeth Galliford, Marilyn and her husband Al Saunders, Sheila and her husband Rodney Salisbury, John and his wife Lisa and Janet Lightle.

Annie was the devoted sister of Marjorie and her husband Murray Dickson of Guelph and was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Annie Steele.

Friends are invited to meet the family at Churchill Community Church, 14406 Third Line (Churchill Road North) at Halton-Erin Town Line, Acton where the funeral service to celebrate Annie’s life will be conducted by the Rev. John Bedell on Tuesday at one o’clock.  Private spring interment.

Dear sister of Gordon (Theresa) and Lynda. Dolly is also lovingly remembered by the extended McLeod and Egerton families.

Growing up in Toronto’s Parkdale, Dolly was the oldest of Frank and Violet Egerton’s ten children. A woman of boundless energy, Dolly loved to keep her family warm with her hand knit afghans, sweaters and woollen socks. After her retirement she became an enthusiastic “snowbird” who loved wintering in Bradenton, Florida.

Although dementia affected her everyday life, her quick wit and sense of humour still brought much laughter and joy to those she knew. Our thanks and gratitude are extended to Dr. William Love, Dr. Chris Williams, and the entire staff at the Acclaim Alzheimer’s Program on Brant Street.

Private Cremation and Family Service will take place. A Memorial Gathering for those who knew Dolly will be held in Burlington on Saturday, January 31st.

Arrangements out of Georgetown. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church at the Croatian Centre in Norval on Tuesday, January 27th, at 10:00 am. and burial to follow in Mississauga.

Marko was a man of strong faith who raised his children in the Croatian Catholic spirit. He was a man of great generosity and integrity who will be greatly missed. We are saddened by this loss.

Colman_JoanJoan, a sixth generation Canadian, died in Oakville on January 21, 2015.

She was born on April 20, 1932 in Montague, Prince Edward Island. She lived in Cape Breton and New Brunswick as a child, and attended Mount Allison University, graduating in 1953. Joan travelled extensively and lived in Ottawa, England, Denmark, and Toronto. She settled in Oakville in 1961.

She is survived by three children, David (Catherine), Heather (Gabor), and Ian (Hélène), and four grandchildren, Samuel, Olivia, Gisèle, and Oscar.

Joan was predeceased by her husband John Ernest Colman.

Joan was an enthusiastic bridge player, an avid reader, and enjoyed attending the theatre and travelling with her family.

A memorial service will be held in Oakville on Saturday, January 31st.
