Peacefully on Friday, July 24th, 2015 at Muskoka Landing in Huntsville with her son and grandson by her side. Erma (nee Brocklebank), in her 93rd year.

Loved wife of the late Lloyd Smith.

Loving mother of Lorraine (Gary), Garson (Jennifer), Tom (Donna) and Brenda (Walt). Proud Nana of Jason, Kyle, Ryan, Erin, Thompson, Jenny, Chris, Greg and Mikey and great nana of Kellen, Katie, Lily, Jai, Hadley, Tommy and Landen. Survived by her sister Eva Oxtoby of Kelona, BC.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, Georgetown, Ontario on Monday, July 27th from 10 - 11 am with funeral service following in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment, Glen Williams.

Preceded not so long ago by brother John, leaving behind beloved wife Bernadette, loving daughter Coco, granddaughter Charlie May, sister Margaret, nephews Jarrod, Jason and Brent, and so many more family members and beloved friends.

Our beloved Mom (Gam) passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 23, 2015.

Jean was born in Toronto to Don and Olive Maclean. She married her true love Douglas Gaskin (1928-1986) in 1948, settled in Toronto, then moved to Burlington in 1958 where she remained in that very home.

Jean was a wonderful, kind person loved by all. Jean embraced life and loved her family. She particularly loved babies, knitting, playing cards, crossword puzzles, watching the Blue Jays and traveling both within Canada and abroad. Jean was active in aquafit, card club, theatre outings and cherished luncheon dates, right up to her passing.

Jean is survived by her four, #1 sons; Dave (Chris), Steve (Corrine), Glen and Mark (Lynda), 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Jean was recently predeceased by her dear sister, Audrey.

Private cremation has occurred, as per Jean's wishes. A gathering to celebrate Jeans life will be held on Wednesday, July 29th from 3-5 p.m. at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, BURLINGTON, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation in her memory.

As a family we are very thankful to our Lord to have had Mom in our lives and for her constant love and concern for her entire family.

She was predeceased by her husband Harm and her son George (survived by Jan).

She will be greatly missed by her two daughters - Trudy DeVries (Bob) and Jackie Case (Tony) as well as 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral service was held at Holland Christian Homes where she lived for the last 15 years.

She was a strong, determined woman, who never gave up, right to the end. She was known for her outgoing nature and good humour. She will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her. The good Lord called and she is now on a journey to His Kingdom.

Born on March 2, 1927 in Grandola, Portugal. Tony immigrated to Canada in 1956 and became a pillar of the Portuguese community through his efforts and leadership to new Canadians.

Beloved husband of the late Margarida. Cherished father of Joseph Paixao and his partner Marsha Thurlin, Carlos Paixao and his wife Kathleen Morkin, Ann Marie Paixao-Pauk and her husband Ron. Loving grandfather of Justin and Whitney Paixao, Miguel Paixao and his wife Gia. Will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West., Oakville, Ontario from 6-9 pm Friday. Funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 25th,  Interment.

She was the pillar of the Filipino-Canadian community for at least 30 years, and she was the founding member of the Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre (KCCC).

Predeceased by her loving husband Hospicio Quejas and daughter, Joyce (Ron) Quejas-Risdon.

She is survived by daughters, Loliza (Jose) Salazar, Melanie (Felizardo) Suzara, Leilani (Archie) Purificacion, and Jojo Sebastian. She will forever be remembered by grandchildren Wendy (Kiyoshi), Paul, Monica (Simon), Sheila (Paolo), Robert (Jennifer), Jennifer (Doug), Anthony, Andrew, Caitlyn, Lana, Leigha, and great-grandchildren Mayumi, Kenji, Carmen, Theodore, Luca, Ava, Marina, Brianna, and Isla.

Dear brother-in-law to Jean and Dennis Fox, Louis and Sandra Ceroni, and Bill and Mary Louise Ceroni. Joe will be dearly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Bob will be dearly missed by his sister Marnie Holloway, and sisters-in law, Helen Fredricks (Willard) and Mary Dickey. Predeceased by sisters Phyllis Johnson and Lois Carle.

Bob was a teacher and principal with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board for 35 years. He was involved with curling and bridge as long-time member of the Burlington Roseland Club. Bob enjoyed spending his summer days with his family at their cottage in Muskoka.
