Hayes_HerbHerb passed away peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice Monday, December 15th, 2014 after a lengthy illness.

He was born February 22nd, 1939.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Gail, his admiring sons Mark (Tari Lee) Scott (Lisa) and Tim, his loving grandchildren Eric & Liam and Abby & Jordan, his proud brother Carl (Lois) and many nieces and nephews.

He was the son of Edward and Ella Hayes (deceased).

Born and raised in Shigawake, on the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec, he went to Quebec High School, Quebec City before attending Queens University and graduating from Medical School in 1963. He specialized in Anaesthesia and served the medical communities in Kingston, ON and Maria, PQ before moving his young family to Burlington in 1971.

Herb was an Anesthetist at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital from 1971 to 2010. He was respected by his colleagues, loved by his patients and will be sorely missed in the community. He was a gentleman and a gentle man.

His family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staffs at JBMH and the Carpenter Hospice for their compassion and care.

Memorial visitations will take place on Saturday, December 20th and Sunday, December 21st. Cremation has taken place. At Herb's request there will be no funeral service. Internment will take place in the spring 2015.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation and The Carpenter Hospice.

Predeceased by his wife, Ella (1995). Ray found love again and spent the next 18 years with Jean (nee Bowyer).

Loving father of Carol of Alberta and predeceased by son Randy. Survived by daughter-in-law Martha of Exeter. Cherished grandfather of Zachery (Tracey), Ben (Jen), Peter (Heather) and five great-grandchildren.

Dear brother of Stan (Louise) of Windsor. Ray will be sadly missed by extended family and friends.

Long-time member of Burlington Baptist Church.

MacDonald_TheresaIt is with great sadness we announce the passing of Theresa Wilma MacDonald (nee Gouin). Theresa passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15th, 2014 at 7pm at the age of 73.

Theresa is survived by her husband Charles, three sons Patrick (Esther), James (Kathleen), and Timothy (Chinara). Theresa adored her five grandchildren Brittney (Andrew), James (Sarah), Noah, Apollo, and Hannah. Theresa also welcomed her first great grandchild this year, Violet.

She also leaves behind three brothers and two sisters; Doreen (Aksel), Bob, Roger, Mary Ellen, and Jim (Gina). She will be deeply missed.

Theresa was born October 2nd, 1941 in London, Ontario. She was a proud volunteer with The Red Cross, a Girl Guides Leader, and a proud member of Faith Christian Reformed Church in Burlington, Ontario.

A funeral service will be held in Oakville on Friday, December 19th.

Loving father of Steve (Shannon), Paul (Shelley), Brian (Kristen), Tim (Maya) with their mother Lois (nee Ashworth). Proud grandfather of Chris, Kate, Megan, Andrew, Kelsey, and Aiden.

Patrick will be sadly missed by siblings Brendan, Marie, Lorcan, and Ciaran. Predeceased by sister Gemma.

Arrangements out of Burlington. Private cremation has taken place, no services at this time. Interment in Ireland at a later date.

Norma is predeceased by son Steven, husband Earle, brother Grenville L. Douglas and his wife Marjorie and brother Harley W. Douglas.

Norma will be lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Helen Douglas (Harley), many nieces, great- nieces, great-great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-great- nephews. 

Service will be held in Milton, on Saturday, December 20th. Norma's interment will be this coming spring.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Philip John Clarke and her children Cynthia Clarke, David Clarke and Phyllis Crawford and her two grandsons Eric and Daniel Crawford, by whom she will be greatly missed.

Amelia’s family would like to thank the Juravinski Hospital Cancer Team in Hamilton as well as all of the nursing staff on 5 South at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. Special thank you to the Palliative Nursing Team on 4 East at Joseph Brant for their compassion and care during her final days.

Passed peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2014 in his 89th year.

Bill was the beloved husband of Diane Daphne and the beloved father of Cindy, Christina (Doug), Andrea and Brian (Jennifer). He was grandfather to Geoffrey, Rachelle, William and Martin. He will be dearly missed.

Bill was an insurance man, starting his career in Montreal with The Phoenix of Hartford as their inland marine special agent. Bill moved locations as he rose in the company, going from Montreal to Winnipeg to Calgary to Montreal, finally settling in the head office of the Travelers (Zurich) in Toronto.

Bill was a family man. He and Diane raised four children, first in Montreal, Quebec followed by Mississauga, Ontario where he and his family lived for 45 years.

Funeral will be held in Oakville on Monday, December 22nd.

A celebration of Eric's life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136, 21 Charles Street, Milton on Saturday, December 27th from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m., with a tribute service beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Beloved husband of Laura Williams (nee Kazemekas). Father of Christopher and Mark. Dear brother of Sheila Calling and Ernest Williams. Predeceased by sister Shirley Williams.

Adored by his three Labs Bozley, Sandy and Reegee.

Bob served in the Canadian Army for 13 years. He was with the Peacekeeping Forces in the United Nations in the Middle East for part of that time. He took early retirement from his sales career and followed his woodworking passion completing the woodworking apprenticeship program with Mohawk College. He found much enjoyment in his woodworking business and woodworking pals Harry Murphy and Bob Shepherd.

He was also talented in electronics and as a general fix-it guy. Bob was a member of several choirs including the Burlington Welsh Chorus, Canadian Orpheus Male Choir, Mohawk Singers and Burlington Civic Chorale. Bob and Laura enjoyed hiking the Bruce Trail and served on the Board of the Iroquoia Section. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will be held in Burlington on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.

If desired, donations to the Burlington Welsh Chorus or Canadian Orpheus Male Choir would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews in Scotland and The United States.

Beloved husband of June for 63 wonderful years. Cherished Dad of Lorie Jenkin (Don) and Carole. "Papa Fred" to the Jenkin boys: Taylor (Cathrine), Carson, and Spencer (girlfriend Samantha). Devoted brother of Margaret Bridges of Calgary.

Fred was passionate about cars and worked at Ford for 35 years until he retired in 1992. He started his second career selling cars at Oakland Ford Lincoln in Oakville for the next 20 years. When he finally retired, he continued to sell cars to friends and family from the comfort of his home.

Fred was also a respected member of the community and long term member of the Civitan Club of Oakville, participating in numerous charitable events over the course of his life. He was deeply loved by friends and family and touched many people through his kind deeds and warm heart.

A special thank you to Dr. Sayal, Dr. Kovacs and the staff at OTMH for their care and compassion. Also to the Griffin Allen and the staff of Northridge.

A celebration of life service will be held in Oakville on Saturday, December 20th.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Patrick O'Neill, siblings Patty Sabino, Tom O'Connor, Katie Watt, Dan O'Connor and Maureen Hetherington. Daughter-in-law of Gratia O'Neill and the late Michael O’Neill. Sister-in-law of Mike O'Neill and Suzanne Morel, Rob O'Neill, Michael Sabino, Chris Hetherington, Donna McKay, Carol O'Connor. Niece-in-law of Peggy O’Neill, Len Mulligan and the late Belle Mulligan.

Adoring aunt and friend to Lisa Sabino, Kristin Sabino, Brandon O'Connor, Jonathan Sabino, Lynsea O'Connor, Geoffrey Hetherington, Eric Hetherington, Emma Hetherington and Rhys O'Connor. Loving and caring great aunt to Ashley O'Connor, Ella McIvor, Elisabeth McIvor and Izzey Mae O'Connor.

A funeral service will be held in Oakville on Friday, December 19th. Interment.

Brother of Dennis (Gail) and Madeline. Brother in law of John (Cathie), Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephew.

Gordon_JimIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim peacefully at home on December 10, 2014 at the age of 72.

Beloved husband of Simone (de Wal). Cherished father of Susan, Jim, and Heather (Ian). Adored Grandpa of Madelyn, Shannon, Laszlo and Clementine.

Loving brother to Linda (Bill), Ted (Dorothy) and Karen (Brian). Humourous brother-in-law of Felix (Pauline), Merle (Andrew), Ernie (Bonnie), and Tanja (Jan) and will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Retired from Dofasco after 39 years, Jim was also a lifelong member of The Burlington Golf and Country Club, including 1999-2000 President. He loved time spent at the family cottage and winters in Florida.

Jim's sense of humour, big laugh, love of life and positive attitude will always be remembered.

Cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will be held in Burlington on Monday, December 15th.

It is with great sadness that Anneliese Wollschlager’s family announces the passing of their beautiful and loving mother and grandmother, on the morning of December 10, 2014.

She was born in Mannheim, Germany and lived in Canada for most of her life, raising six children, and working with her husband at their family business, Burlington Refrigeration.

For the latter half of her life she travelled with Arnold and shared her wisdom with her family, as she was very interested in natural medicine, simple living, trust in Jesus, hiking and nature.

She will live in our hearts always.
