ADAMS, Frank Charles Adams, Obituary | Print |

ADAMS, Frank Charles -

December 15, 1924 - April 18, 2014

After battling with cancer for the past four years, he died peacefully and comfortably at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton.

He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Alice and his daughter Carol.

Born in Nova Scotia one of 11 brothers and sisters.

Was a proud member of the Princess Pat's Light Infantry and served in Korea. He earned the Korea Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He worked as a Stationary Engineer at many businesses in Southern Ontario before finally settling down at Inland Waters with the federal government (Environment Canada) in Burlington.

In retirement, Frank and Alice spent winters in Florida and shared this time with his brother Albert and wife Dolly. His greatest passion was flying airplanes and he attained his licence in his later life.

He and Alice spent most of the early years on Lower Horning and then when Frank retired, they moved into St. Elizabeth Village.

His grandson Jack Pfeifer and his wife Leslie have been honoured to help and share in Frank's life in the past 10 years. We did our utmost so that he could live his life as independently as possible, yet safely. Frank loved it when his great-granddaughters Danielle, Suzanne and Rachel would come to visit. He also received love from his granddaughter Karin and her husband Claude and their son Shawn and daughter Candice. His other grandson Rod and his children April and Nick also sent their wishes from Alberta.

Frank also had many nieces and nephews who were in his heart.

To the staff at St. Peter's Third Floor West, a heartfelt thanks for the care and humanity that you provided Frank in his last days.
