Passed away peacefully at her home on April 15, 2012.

Predeceased by her parents Earl and Faye Davies. Joanna will be deeply missed by her twin sister Julie Bouchard, and her brother Jeff (Marg) Davies. Beloved niece of Joanna Lawson, long time friend to Nancy Barber, she will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Joanna loved her feline children, Eyore and Handsome.

She worked for many years as a labour nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital.

GOOBIE, John Norman -

Passed away peacefully Sunday, April 15, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in his 90th year.

John was a WWII veteran stationed in England where he met the love of his life Olive. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past January.

He will be sadly missed by his children Sandra (Garry Kindswater), Gord (Jen), Bev (Peter Leger) and Dave (Jean). Predeceased by his daughter Donna (Robert Bourke). Grampie is survived by his grandchildren - Cindy, Steve, Mike, Dean, David, Chris and Laura and nine great-grandchildren.

Survived by his sister Mildred (Ralph Follett), brother Fred (Betty Goobie), Meyer, Eldon and sister Sandra. Also survived by Betty Lewis, Lindsay, David and family in England.

John was a retired veteran of Otis Elevator and a proud member of the R.H.L.I.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the many staff at St. Peter's who took care of John over the past few months and for their wonderful support to our family over the final few days.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 21st in Ancaster. Interment to follow.

Passed away peacefully on Sunday April 15 (on the Feast of Divine Mercy).

He was in his 95th year and is survived by his wife Zofia, son George (Bozena) and grandson Matthew. He was predeceased by 5 sisters and 3 brothers in Poland and by his son Henry.

Kazimierz was a Soviet Siberian Labour Camp survivor and a World War II veteran (under General Anders II Polish Corp) who took part in the battle of Monte Casino in Italy.

Funeral Mass will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church (Barton St. at St. Ann Street, Hamilton) at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday with interment to follow in Ancaster.

Roy would also especially like to thank Grace for looking after his mom 24 / 7 with patience and love that will never be forgotten, and all the nieces, nephews and friends that visited his mom in time of need and help.

FEAVER, Christine Helen (nee MacIntosh) -

Passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, April 14, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer. She was 63.

Loving mother of two daughters, Jenny and Lizbeth (Sean) and devoted grandmother to Lily and Clara. She is survived by her two siblings Rob and Jeannie and her dear sister-in-law Pam. Born July 24th, 1948 to the late Bruce and Mary MacIntosh of Flamborough.

After achieving incredible academic success, Chris began working at MacMaster University in the department of Economics, where she stayed for an enjoyable 42 year career.

Chris was an avid hiker, wild flower expert, scrabble aficionado, world traveller and thoroughly enjoyed time spent at the family cottage on Lake Huron.

She will be sadly missed by her many friends from the Bridge Club and the Bay City Book Club as well as her travelling buddies.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to all those who provided support to Chris and her family over the past year.

A memorial gathering will be held at The University Club of McMaster ,(located at the centre of the McMaster Campus next to Edwards Hall), on Wednesday, April 18th from 5pm-8pm.

SANDERSON, Arthur -

It is with profound sadness that the family of Arthur Sanderson announces his unexpected passing at home on April 14, 2012 at the age of 87.

Arthur is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Gladys, his children Teresa (Alex), Marty (Laura), Jennifer (Mark) and Donny (Sharon), and his sister Pat (the late Ray). Arthur is also survived by his grandchildren Chris (Marleen), Natalie and Alexandra; his nieces and nephew Jane (Tony), Debra (John) and Chris (Julie), and their children Jennifer, Grace, Jonjo, Tony, Callum, Joe and Oscar.

Born in London, England in 1925, Arthur immigrated to British Columbia with Gladys in 1957. They then moved to Ontario where he had a long career with Stanley Steel and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Arthur was a true gentleman who was once referred to as a Renaissance man. He pursued many interests over the years becoming a fine woodworker, an accomplished photographer and a maker of very good wine. He was also a passionate reader who enjoyed the power of the written word until the very end.

His wry sense of humour was often mistaken as British reserve but was very much appreciated by those who knew him well. Above all, Arthur was deeply in love with his wife, remaining devoted to her until his final day.

Arthur was dearly loved and held in the highest esteem by all his family. He will be sorely missed, but always remembered.

A heartfelt thank you to John and Gloria Bottcher, Pam Clarke, Mary Hanbrock, and the caregivers and staff at Parkview Meadows.

Born and raised in Milton, Ontario, Sylvia was involved in piano (achieving her ARCT), ballet and other community activities. Sylvia stayed busy raising four children and then worked at Mohawk College for over twenty years.

Sylvia was a kind, caring, and gentle person who loved music, reading, gardening, the arts, and travel.

Special thanks to friend and cousin, Libby Stevenson who helped the family during their mother's illness.

Rosina Petrella, long time friend and sister. Sandy, we know you would have been here but for your own extended stay in hospital. To John, Carolyn and the many caregivers that have become part of our family, you held a special place in Clara's heart. Clara will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, friends and by the extended Bartolotta, Esposto, Smith and Stang families.

Clara was an amazing person who spent much of her life helping others. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

After the war he came to New Brunswick, Canada and worked on a farm. He then moved to Hamilton to work as a general foreman at Canron.

He met our mother Helen (Gaidomovich) on a farm in Smithville, they married in 1953 and raised four boys, Richard (Dianne), Tom (Debbie), John, and Art (Cindy).

He loved his sons but adored his grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, & Adrian; Sarah & Amanda; Steven & Alicia; Zachary & Lucas.

He loved fishing and gardening but his passion was family get togethers.

Thanks to his many doctors, the staff at the General Hospital and the nurses at Bayshore Home Health.

A funeral service will held on Thursday April 19, 2012 in Hamilton. Cremation to follow.

BECKHAM, William (Bill) John -

Bill passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 13, 2012, in Wawa, Ontario at the age of 68.

He is remembered by his wife Barbara and her family. Bill is lovingly remembered by his children, Barbara, Melanie, Sue, Joanne and their families, siblings Sharon and Jim and their families, his Aunt Olive, his numerous cousins, step-children and friends.

Bill is predeceased by his son William (Billy), and by his parents Gene and Hazel Beckham.

Bill lived his life to the fullest, and as he believed. Always a generous and caring man, Bill had a tremendous sense of humour, and a great gregarious laugh, which he readily used as he shared his lifetime of stories with anyone who would listen.

He loved the outdoors and, upon retirement from 30 years as a sprinkler fitter, found his calling by pursuing his dream to operate a hunting and fishing lodge in Wawa, Ontario. People came for the hunting and the fishing, but they came back because of Bill, with his love of life and outdoorsman's knowledge.

Bill will be greatly missed.

His life will be celebrated on Thursday, April 19th in Brantford. Please come and share in his life.

Don was a member of Club 60, a member of Stoney Creek United Church, an avid golfer, a retired Mechanical Engineer with Trane Canada who worked on many HVAC systems in Southern Ontario, and a founding member of the ASHRAE chapter in Hamilton.

JACOBSEN, Bent -

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bent on April 13, 2012 at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario following a short illness.

Bent was born in Aarhus, Denmark on August 3, 1931. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and worked for 31 years at International Harvester / Case in Hamilton, before moving to London.

Bent is survived by Lis, his devoted wife of 51 years. Bent was the proud father of Brian (Kim) and Steven (Stephanie) and adoring Farfar to Camryn, Georgia and Cassie. He also leaves behind his brother Kai in Denmark.

According to Bent's wishes he has been cremated and a family Memorial Service will be taking place on Saturday, May 12th at 11:45 a.m. at Sunset Mindepark in Puslinch, Ontario.

Kocanovic_RuthAfter a 10 year valiant battle with cancer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Juravinski Hospital on April 13, 2012 at the age of 58.

Beloved wife of Slobodan "Bob" for 33 years. Cherished and devoted mother to Allison Kocanovic (Mike), Danielle Kocanovic (Matt). She will be sadly missed by her sister Linda Sharp (Ken), and brother Glen Hillock, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Elaine had many passions in life, including cooking a fantastic meals and sharing time with family while watching football, curling, or hockey.

Her true passion was nursing, starting at the age of 18 with the Hamilton General Hospital. Elaine took some time away from nursing but her strength and determination to help others was always foremost in her heart.

After going back to school to update her certificates, she once again was able to help people, during her time at The Rosslyn and Arbour Creek Nursing Homes, where she will be sadly missed.

Family and Friends will be received at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday April 17th from 6-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 18th at 11 am. Interment to follow.

Krzeminski_HenrykPassed away on Friday, April 13th, 2012 at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 83.

Loving husband of the late Wanda. Cherished father of Mark of St. Catharines and Miroslaw of Poznan, Poland. Beloved friend of Jadwiga.

Henryk was born in Chelm and grew up in Lublin, the city he loved. He was an avid oil painter, musician, poet and writer. Henryk was a mechanical engineer who had many designs, including a life boat used for oil rigs. He loved his home country of Poland but also felt very at home in Canada.

Henryk will always be remembered for being a caring person, always putting others before himself. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew him.

As per Henryk's wishes there will be no visitation or service. Burial will take place on Monday at 11a.m. at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Red Cross of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2012 in his 85th year at the Bob Kemp Hospice, after a lengthy illness.

Dearly loved and missed by his wife Juana (Ina Smith). Fondly remembered and cherished by many family and friends in the Hamilton/Wentworth area, Alberta, Germany, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Michigan.

John was a longtime retiree of Stelco and had spent many years on "the farm" in Copetown on the Powerline Road.

John enjoyed watching all sports and listening to classical music. He found great joy being around babies and children. John had a great passion for discussing many subjects with everyone he met and he was known for his very friendly nature. He will be remembered for his homemade bread and french fries.

At John's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.

Donations to the Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton or the Cancer Assistance program would be appreciated.
