Piatek_GenePassed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, November 27, 2014 in his 70th year.

Devoted loving husband of 41 years to JoAnne Piatek (nee Kowalski). Cherished father of Stefanie, Matthew (Maggie) and Steven Piatek.

Survived by his sister Genia Johnson and sister-in-law Marg Phillips.

Predeceased by his parents Mary and Joseph Piatek and brother Andrew. Eddy also will be deeply missed by his nephew Henry Piatek (Kazia), niece Christine Bak (Joe), their families and other loved ones, including many special friends and neighbours whose lives he touched.

Eddy graduated from the University of Guelph (Honours in Economics), had a passion for agriculture and farmed in the Scotland area for many years. He taught agriculture at Fanshawe College, and worked in Corrections where he received the Exemplary Service Medal.

Eddy was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church, serving the parish as a lector and a member of the finance committee, as well as actively being involved with the Polish community of Brantford and Delhi. He was committed to lifelong learning and making people feel their value and place in this world.

He enjoyed polka music and dancing. As a talented musician, he had his own polka band and played at many weddings and dances. Eddy loved life and had a knack for sharing stories and quotes, one of his many true gifts. He was always generous with his time, love and advice for life.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Vincent for his compassionate care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, Brantford on Monday, December 1st at 12:00 p.m. followed by interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddy’s memory can be made to St. Mary’s Church Foundation, St. Joseph’s Church (Elevator Fund), the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or charity of your choice.

John Podiotis, dear father of Michael Lawson (Terry) and family. 

Predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Asimo Podiotis.

Dear brother of Dina Sorokos and the late Violeta Pagonis and Ismini Coveos.   Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews in North America and Greece.

John was a long time resident of Brantford and a proud owner of the Athena Restaurant.

Funeral Service will be held in Brantford on Wednesday. Interment.

Brian loved golf and was an avid member and marshal at Scenic Woods Golf Club.

Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Holy Family Church (Kenilworth Ave. at Cannon St) on Tuesday, December 2nd at 11am. Interment to follow.

Dear husband, father and Nonno. Alfredo will forever be remembered and loved by his caring and devoted wife Salvatrice "Tota" of 51 years. Loving father of Anna Maria Corvaro (John) and Denise Taccone (John). Cherished Nonno of his four angels Olivia, Corrina, Ciara and Michaela.

Alfredo was the youngest and last surviving sibling of ten children to Giovanni and Maria Varrasso, and will now join his brothers (Liberato, Biago, Giampetro, Antonio and Luigi) and sisters (Pasquina, Antonietta and Domenica) in a reuniting of the "KINZ" clan.

Alfredo will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in Italy, Australia, Argentina and the USA.

Alfredo was a kind and gentle soul whose life was solely devoted to his family and friends. He had a beautiful smile and a big heart. Alfredo and Salvatrice shared a great love and bond for one another that could not be broken. It was this bond and Salvatrices' strength and tireless devotion, and God's guidance, which allowed Alfredo to walk through his journey with dignity and grace over the last 15 years of his life.

Alfredo loved to travel and loved to dance, which he did often with his beloved Tota.

The family wishes to express its sincere thank you to Dr. Ralph Profetto for his care and support. In addition, the family wishes to thank a few certain angels at the Clarion Nursing Home for their care and compassion of Alfredo.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Monday, December 1st at 10 a.m. Entombment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

She had previously completed the Laurier English and Academic Foundations (LEAF) program in Brantford.

A part-time student in the Bachelor of Business Administration program, Wang was working toward starting full-time studies in January.

With heavy hearts we say goodbye for now to our dearest mom, Mary Cecilia Geryk (nee Greco), who slipped away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by those who loved her.

Mary was born in 1925 to parents Joe and Maria Greco, whom she loved dearly.

Mary was a devoted mother to daughter Mary Ann Hale and her husband Doug. Loving grandmother to Andrea, Tom, Katherine, Gwen and Katrina and granddog Roxy. She was a loving great-grandmother to Kyle.

Mary is predeceased by her husband Nick, only much loved son Michael and son-in-law Peter Hooper and brothers Sam and Charlie Greco. M

ary is survived by dear sisters Lynn (Bob) and Grace Burke. She is also survived by daughter Jacquelyne Hooper-Boyd and her husband Tim and sisters-in-law Joyce and Georgette and many nieces and nephews.

Mary volunteered for many years at Our Lady of Lourdes School and was affectionately known as Grandma Mary. Over the years, Mary opened her heart and home to many abandoned animals - Princess and Fluffy, her dogs, and Lucy, her cat, that loved to sleep on her pillow on top of her head and most recently, Caillee, the Alley cat.

Mary loved Canada, The Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and the Toronto Maple Leafs watching as many games as possible. She loved peanut butter and honey crullers. Mary was an exceptional cook, baker and gardener.

Mary loved all her friends and family and truly appreciated all the kindness shown to her by niece Tami Raco and her family, Eva and Georgina, and her newest dear friend Evelyn, who watched over her these last few weeks at St. Joseph's Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 416 Mohawk Road East, on Monday, December 1st at 10 a.m. Burial to take place.

In memory of Mary, please make a donation to the Michael Geryk Memorial Fund, the "Kit Cat" Cat Rescue of Hamilton, Forever Home Cat Rescue or the Hamilton Burlington SPCA or simply perform an act of kindness to someone or something.

Mary's family would like to thank all the exceptional staff at St. Joseph's Hospital A.L.C. Ward for their care and compassion.

Don enjoyed his entire career working in the retail automotive industry. He was an avid golfer and upon retirement volunteered his time at Tyandaga Golf Club in Burlington.

Brother of Fred (Delores), Elmo (Cathy) and Gail (Wayne Noftall), all of Newfoundland. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and co-workers.

Fraser was a 10-year employee of United Refrigeration in Hamilton.

A public graveside committal service and interment of ashes will take place at Mount Hamilton Cemetery on Monday, December 1st. Following the service, there will be an opportunity to share fellowship with the family over refreshments at The Salvation Army Mountain Citadel, 835 Stonechurch Road East, Hamilton.
