MCLAUGHLIN, Tracy (Jolley) McLaughlin Obituary | Print |

MCLAUGHLIN, Tracy (nee Jolley) -

McLaughlin_Tracy_Jolley(May 30, 1969 – September 10, 2014)

We are devastated by Tracy’s death from advanced colon cancer on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 close to home in Hamilton, Ontario. She was 45 years old.

Tracy died the way she lived - deeply loved and admired throughout the community, inspiring others and seeking personal growth right through her final days. With a radiant smile and determined will, she was a force of nature.

Born and raised in Meaford, Ontario, Tracy graduated from McMaster University and the Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School. In 1999, she founded Waterdown Massage Therapy clinic and her business continues to grow and thrive.

Tracy was an avid tennis player and a former national middle distance runner. In 1995, she finished ninth in the 5000-metre final at the Canadian National Track & Field Championships. A certified sport massage therapist, Tracy was able to combine her love of athletic competition with her professional work.

She was part of core medical teams at Summer Olympic Games and many other major sporting events around the world, often at the invite of Athletics Canada and the Canadian National Cycling Team. She most enjoyed working with junior athletes, and of course, was always thrilled to work the locker room at the Rogers Cup as a WTA Medical Team member.

Tracy will be most cherished though as a wife and mother, daughter and sister, friend and colleague. With both body and soul, she gave so much to others, so that they might smile, heal or compete.

Tracy’s beautiful spirit and strength of character lives on with her husband Chris and their children Simon and Avery in Hamilton, her parents Ralph and Joanne Jolley of Meaford, Ontario, brother Shane Jolley (Dianne) of Owen Sound, Ontario, nieces Jessie, Cayla and Heather Jolley, and her second family of George and Dovie McLaughlin of Tamworth, Ontario, sister (in law) Lisa Mace (Brad) of Apsley, Ontario, and nephews Seth LaRose and Zane Mace.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Tracy in Burlington, on Saturday, September 20th. Tracy’s cremated remains will be interred in a separate private ceremony in Hamilton at a later date.

Memorial donations on Tracy’s behalf to Right to Play or the Hamilton Community Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
