Devoted and loving wife of the late Elmer Kinnear (1992). Loving mother to the late Joseph (2013) (Audrey), Joyce Jones (Mel), Murray (Darline) and Ken (Elaine). Grandmother to Jeff Kinnear (Chris), Tom Kinnear, Diane Kinnear-Martin, Melanie Ruigrok, (Ron), Deanna McGee (Mike), Leslie Ruigrok (Paul), Rob Kinnear (Wanda), JoAnne Kinnear, Karen Kinnear, Colleen Link, Evan Kinnear (Samantha), Elizabeth Whitford (Paul), Theresa Secord (Gary) and Lisa Swent (Aaron).

Also survived by her brother Robert Zintel (Joyce, deceased). Predeceased by her parents Blake and Suzanna Zintel and siblings Earl Boose (Marg), Doris Stevens (Allan), Harry Zintel (Eileen), Lloyd Zintel (Eris) and Vera McKeen (Wesley).

Myrl was a past member of the Eastern Star.

Service will be held in Cayuga, on Thursday, April 9th. Interment.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Dunnville Hospital Foundation (DHHF), earmarked for the Redevelopment of the ER Department or to the charity of your choice.

Passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness. Loving life partner of 32 years to Bunny Platz.

Youngest son of Roberta and Wes (predeceased). Survived by his six brothers and sisters.

He will be deeply missed by Bunny's family and his many nieces and nephews.

Wes had a wide circle of friends and will be fondly remembered by all.

Thank you to all the medical and home care staff that made it possible for Wes to stay home.

As he requested, cremation has taken place.

"May the wind be at your back, and all your birds and butterflies carry you on their wings where ever you may go."

Our dear mother, Baba and Pra Baba passed away peacefully April, 5 2015 at the age of 92.

Sofia is predeceased by her husband Wasyl (Bill) in October 1990.

She was the mother to Mary and Brian Roussel, Olga Shustyk and Gerry Dykstra, Irene and Doug Kay, and John Schustyk, and the proud and loving Baba to Tieneke Dykstra (Jeff), Emily Bodden (Derek), Rebecca Dykstra (Jamie), Natasha Forbes (Mike) and William Kay.  She was also the cherished Pra Baba to Jewel, Angel, Isaiah, Charlie and Sam.

Sofia will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Her family in the Ukraine is praying for her as well.

Sofia was born in 1923 in Toporiw, Ukraine, and Wasyl and Sofia started their lives in Canada in 1951.

Her Ukrainian heritage, her faith, and family were of utmost importance throughout her life. She was a faithful member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral.

The family extends their thanks to the staff at Cedar Terrace, St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke for their compassionate care over the years.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 855 Barton Street East, on Monday, April 13 at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow.

Donations to St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral would be gratefully accepted.

Of Hamilton, ON, succumbed to his battle with cancer at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his family on April 5, 2015, at the age of 70.

David is survived by his wife Gail of 19 years, son Joel (Lara) Taylor, daughter Kimberly, step-sons Ryan (Kim) and Chris Cuthbert and grandchildren Joshua, Victoria, Charlotte, Rachel and Cameron.

David was a loving dad, husband, grandpa and friend to all.

A special thank you to the staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre and St. Peter's in Hamilton for their loving care and support.

Visitation will be held at the Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home -'Ancaster Chapel', 378 Wilson Street East (905-648-3852), Ancaster ON, on Saturday, April 11th from noon until 3 p.m., with an invitation to share stories and memories at 2 p.m.

She will be missed by her daughters Phyllis (Mark), and Sheila (Wayne). Beloved Gran to Kristian and Jameson.

Survived by her 2 sisters Polly and Moira, and her sister in law Hilda.

Phyllis is also missed by Jim Kraemer, her extended family, and her many friends. Special thanks to Dr. Bev and staff for the compassionate comfort and care at St. Peter's 3W.

Survived by her 5 children, Madeleine Halper Van Goch (the late Al), Louis (Jeanette), Bob (Cindy), Theresa (Steve) and Joe (Julia). Loved grandmother of Loretta Van Goch Anderson (Keenan), Daniel Van Goch (Mandy), Craig (Lisa), Neil, Carla and Keith Halper, James, David and Michael Halper. Great-grandmother of Michael, Neil and Kallie Van Goch, Adam and Cameron Halper.

Theresa was the last child of Matilda and Adelard Gauvreau, the last sibling of 4 sisters and 5 brothers, and aunt to over 100 first, second and third generation nieces and nephews.

Theresa has been a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish since 1952 and a member of their CWL for over 60 years.

Special thanks to Albright Manor in Beamsville and all of the caregivers, nurses, cleaners, cooks, doctors, volunteers and staff for their love and thoughtfulness over the past 11 years.

Dear Grandma of 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Loved sister of Jo Schotsman in the Netherlands and dear sister-in-law of Rosalie Kamstra, Annie Aikema, Weike Kamstra, and Teddy and John Hordyk.

Grace was a volunteer with the Red Cross "Meals on Wheels" program for over 25 years.

Knoepfli_OlgaOlga passed away peacefully at Leisure World Caregiving Center, Brantford, on April 4 , 2015 in her 94th year.

Olga was a loving, caring wife, a mother whom most children could only wish to have called "Mom", and a good person and friend to all who knew her throughout her life.

Olga was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Wilfred Knoepfli.

She also survived the sudden and tragic death of her son, Russell James Gray as well as the death of her six siblings.

Olga is survived by her son, Gerry Gray (Debra), her step-son, Peter Knoepfli (Heather), five granddaughters (Dr. Courtney Gray, Megan Gray, Kristin Knoepfli, Dr. Alexandra Knoepfli-Kleiboer, Heather-Anne Velaniskis) and five great grandchildren (Noah Gray, Peter and Fiona Kleiboer, and Mackenzie and Vilkas Velaniskis).

Olga leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins, including close friend and niece, Eleanor Dexter.

Olga and Wilf owned and operated two retail businesses in downtown Brantford – Fabric Fair and Olga's Fashion Fabrics.

In her later years, Olga enjoyed her weekly nature hikes along the Grand River Trails with her good friend and neighbour, Joan White, and a host of other retired area school teachers. Olga loved animals, especially her two St. Bernards ("Brandie" 1 and "Brandie" 2) and then, her pride and joy, "Mikey", a happy go lucky little Shih Tzu.

To all family, friends and acquaintances, Olga will be deeply missed. However, she leaves our lives richer by having known her, her sense of humour and her kindness and empathy towards others.

A Memorial to Olga's life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Brantford.

Loving husband of Pietje (Pauline) for 67 years. Devoted father to Andrew and Alide Kooistra, Bonnie and the late Craig (2005) Kissack, Jane and Jack Jagt, Gerty and Phil Metzlar, Rick and Lydia Kooistra and Bill and Jane Kooistra. Cherished Pake to 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his three brothers Gerrit, Paulus and Cor, and survived by his sister Janny Telgenhof and sister-in-law Geertje Vandervelde. Also missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Visitation on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at BURLINGTON CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 3422 New St., Burlington, where the Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. Private interment to precede the service.

Lewick_PennyPennelope, “Penny” Jane Sellon Lewick, 71, of Burlington, Ontario, formerly of Leamington, Ontario, died surrounded by love on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton.

Born December 25, 1943 in Leamington, Ontario, she is predeceased by her father, Donald Sellon of Leamington, ON, and her late husband of 46 years, William (Bill) Lewick of Windsor, Ontario.

Penny’s rich career in nursing allowed her to do what she did best, care for others. She loved anything red, especially wine, but it had to be on ice along with visiting and travelling to see friends and family and in recent years, NASCAR.

Survivors include her mother, Elva Sellon, Kingsville, ON, her two daughters, Joelle (Denis) Duquette of Middle Sackville, NS, and Elana (Blake) Zobrist of Winston-Salem, NC and her grandchildren, Ryleigh, Liam and Payton Duquette of Middle Sackville, NS as well as her grand dog Mona.

A special thank you to Dr. Wendy Reiser, Dr. Courtney Field, and Mary Ann McGrath R.N., as well as, the amazing staff at both the Juravinski Cancer Centre and the staff of C3 at Juravinski Hospital for the wonderful care and concern.

Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Kelly was a lifetime member of Stoney Creek Lions Club for almost 50 years, and also a member of Battlefield Optimist Club and a union member of the Hoisting Engineers since 1956.

He donated many years of service to Dr. Bob Kemp as well as the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Kelly was a proud recipient of the Stoney Creek Citizen of the Year in 1999.

Skinner_ArthurDied after a three month illness, on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at St. Joseph’s hospital in Hamilton with his family by his side; survived by his wife Betty of 58 years, his daughters; Kathryn (Rob), Susan (Doug), and Judy (Peter); his grandchildren, Bob/Lesley, Katie/Chris, Amanda (Mandy)/Mike, Matthew/Rachel, and Dayle/Taylor; two great granddaughters, Clare and Anna; and two sisters, Patricia and Sandra.

Eric was a Principal with the Grand Erie District School Board. He was a respected life member of the Port Dover Yacht Club for 37 years, where he was a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for many years.

He was also an avid curler at the Brant Curling Club.

Eric was born in Ottawa where he met and married Betty. He first taught in North York and moved to Brantford in 1976. After retiring, he became a member of the Literacy Council, the Library Board, and the Grand Erie Trail Committee. (He loved to ride his bicycle over all the trails checking for safety concerns for the trail users.) He also served on the Condo Board where he resided.

Eric lived an active life to the fullest, doing things he enjoyed. One of Eric’s greatest adventures was sailing across the Atlantic in 1988 on a 32 foot sail boat with two of his friends. He avidly raced his sailboat (Flashdancer) and in the season of 2014 along with his faithful crew, won “Boat of the Year” Trophy.

All are invited to celebrate Eric’s life at the Port Dover Yacht Club on June 7th, 2015 from 2 to 4pm.

Arrowsmith_NormaIt is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Arrowsmith, after a very brief illness, on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Clarion Nursing Home in her 91st year.

Beloved wife of the late Albert (1994).

Norma was a most loving, devoted Mom to her daughter, Sue Mancini, who will miss her tremendously. She was the very proud Nana to her grandchildren Dan Mancini, Mark Arrowsmith (Jen), Melane Arrowsmith, Eric Mancini (Jenny) and special Nana to Lisa Kitchen. She absolutely adored and was blessed with her great-grandchildren Blake, Kyrstyn, Jared, Arden, Pax, Claire, Ysabel and special great Nanny to Mathew Kitchen.

Norma will always have a very cherished place in the heart of Paul Hetherington (Karen). She will be fondly remembered by Bill Arrowsmith (Audrey) and Vivian Arrowsmith. Her many nieces, nephews and her wonderful friends, Edith Mancini and Marilyn and Paul Kitchen will miss her dearly.

She was predeceased by her daughter Lynn, son-in-law Phil and sisters Florence and Dolores.

Norma enlisted in the Army following Albert overseas where she was an entertainer for the troops. They married in England in 1945. Throughout her life, Norma had an amazing talent for knitting and crocheting and lovingly gave her creations to many. She was also very fortunate to have been a homeowner for 63 years.

While residing at the Clarion, Norma could always be found with her lovely circle of friends thoroughly enjoying many activities. She was quite the social butterfly! Norma will be missed. Treasured memories her grandchildren have of the summers at Nana and Papa’s cottage are priceless. Norma was a true inspiration, having survived cancer twice in her lifetime.

Heartfelt thanks to Drs. Robert and Christopher Ambis, The Janjic Family and their highly dedicated staff for their endless compassion and care, giving Norma a beautiful quality of life.

At Norma’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, April 7th from 6 - 9 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Predeceased by her twin sister Mary Ertl, and brother Tony Clemens.

Rose will be fondly remembered by all her extended family and friends.

Family was the centre of Rose's life her grandchildren and great-grandchildren a constant source of joy and pride. Both family and friends were the glad recipients of Rose's baking, a skill at which she excelled.

The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the Heritage Trail team of St. Joseph's Villa whose great dedication and caring service kept Rose involved, happy and as healthy as possible while in their care.
