The family is saddened to announce the death of The Venerable Archdeacon William D. Townson in St. Thomas, Ontario.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Marjorie, his sisters Patricia Russell (Bill), and Margaret Firth (Doug, deceased); uncle to Regan (Mark), Shannon (Jon), Dayna (Lou), Tyler (Alemka), Matthew (Andrea), Fraser (Kathryn); great-uncle to Jordan, Gawain, Rowan, Cole, Emery, Chandler, Sam, and William and cousins Marion, Maureen, Arlene, Mildred, Morley and Don.

Father Bill grew up attending the Church of St. John The Evangelist on Locke Street, and Camp Artaban Ancaster since 1938.  In addition to his extensive parish work in the Dioceses of Niagara, New Westminster, and Huron, he also served as prison chaplain in Montreal as well as university chaplain at Renison College in Waterloo.

He will be especially remembered for his incredible generosity and love and commitment to his family and friends.

There will be a memorial service at the Church of St. John The Evangelist at Locke & Charlton Streets at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21st.

Passed away quietly on December 15, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton at the age of 32 years.

Beloved son of David Campbell (Catherine Viger) and Barbara Campbell (Val Aleksiuk).

Loving brother of Michelle (John) MacDonald and their son Cameron, David Campbell Jr. and Donald Myers (Tyson's Little brother and best friends).

Tyson is predeceased by his aunt and uncle, Rev. Allan and Norma Challacombe.

Tyson is survived by his extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received in Brantford on Friday.  A time of sharing will take place.

Loving mother of Debora (the late Dan Ferland), Sandra and David (Lisa). Cherished Grandma of Bryce, Erin, Katherine, Lee-Anne, Danick, Madeline, Ethan, Oscar and Jasper. Dear sister of Nona Peroff (John), Tella Sametz (Mohammed) and their families.

Sylvia dearly loved her family and good friends, and cherished the times spent together to share good stories, good food and lots of laughter. Her strong faith was the foundation of who she was and was evident in all that she said and did.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Shalom Village for their gentle and compassionate care.

Friends may call at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 1140 King St. West, Hamilton, on Thursday, December 18th for visitations from 2-4 or 6-8 p.m.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Gil) for 9 years. Loving father of Gisele and Sophia. Much loved son of Gerry and Susan Holyome.

Cherished son-in-law of Maria and the late Manuel Gil. Dear brother of Jason and Melanie (Craig) MacKay. Devoted brother-in-law of John (Leonilda) Gil. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and Rachel, Danielle, Damian and Pauline.

Dale was a long time employee at Cohoon Engineering.

He was an avid runner, fisherman and loved the outdoors. Most of all he was a dedicated family man and took great pride in his daughters whom he adored.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow.

Passed away at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, at the age of 85.

Loved father of Dave (Terry), Jeff (Lily), Scott (Jane) and Nancy Boeck (Harry). Cherished grandfather of Jill Savage, Jodi Williams, Brittany Kadwell, Erin Kadwell, the late Jennifer Kadwell (2012), Andrew and Joanna Kadwell and William, Katelin and Jacob Boeck and great-grandfather of six great-grandchildren.

Best friend of Shirley Pickard of Burlington. Dear brother of George Kadwell (Eleanor) of Gravenhurst and special uncle of Jenni Scott of Scotland.

Robert was an exemplary General Insurance Adjuster for over 45 years and ran his own Adjusting business in Hamilton and Grimsby for many years as well as in Antigua for 14 years.

He was a former owner of the Grimsby Peach Kings Hockey Club in the late 1960's and early 1970's, a longtime member of Twenty Valley Golf Club, life member of The Sertoma Foundation of Canada and member of the Grimsby Big Brothers.

Special thanks to the staff at Kilean Lodge for all of your care.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Robert's life will take place in the New Year. Arrangements out of Grimsby.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the very sudden passing of Elizabeth on Monday, December 15, 2014 in her 90th year. 

She was predeceased by her husband Michael who served as a pilot in the Royal Air Force. 

Loving mother to Heddy Wright, to son Stan Kawnik and daughter-in-law Sophie Kawnik.  She had a special relationship with her eight grandchildren: Megan, Matthew, Melissa, Billy, Kristyn, David, Michael, and Tommy and her two great grandchildren: Benjamin and Cassandra.

Elizabeth was fortunate to survive the turmoil of WW11 in Europe.  At 13 years of age, she was a prisoner in a Russian work camp in Siberia then at 16 became a soldier in what is now Israel.  At 19 years of age she immigrated to England where she met and married her husband Michael.  They both served with the Allied Free Forces during WW11. 

Elizabeth was a kind soul with a heart of gold and will be dearly missed.

Funeral Mass at the Annunciation of Our Lord, 280 Limeridge Road, Hamilton at 10:30 a.m.

Leo Francis Kirby, born on May 3, 1924, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2014, at Extendicare St. Catharines.

Pre-deceased by his wife, Nettie, left to mourn "Uncle Bill" are Mabel Joliffe (Larry), Sandra Scott (David), Irene Neal, Dorothy Wagner, Brian Meldrum (Diane), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Born in Kaikoura, New Zealand, Leo served with the British-New Zealand Navy during World War II. After immigrating to Canada, he worked for Ball Packaging (American Can).

A funeral mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 440 King St. E., Hamilton on Saturday, December 20th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow.

Terry was an entrepreneur, an avid bridge player and a devoted family man with a contagious zest for life who enjoyed putting a smile on everyone's face.

Ted was predeceased by his sister Marjorie Whelan.

Ted was a proud veteran of WWII where he served overseas with the R.C.A.F. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24.

A special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph's Lifecare for their compassionate care and support that was given to Ted. Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held in St. Catharines, on Tuesday, December 23rd at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Philip John Clarke and her children Cynthia Clarke, David Clarke and Phyllis Crawford and her two grandsons Eric and Daniel Crawford, by whom she will be greatly missed.

Amelia’s family would like to thank the Juravinski Hospital Cancer Team in Hamilton as well as all of the nursing staff on 5 South at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. Special thank you to the Palliative Nursing Team on 4 East at Joseph Brant for their compassion and care during her final days.

Devries_GeeskeDearly loved and sadly missed, our mother was finally taken home to the loving arms of Jesus from her home at Parkview Meadows, Townsend on December 14, 2014, on her 94th birthday.

Geeske was born on Dec. 14, 1920, to Jan and Roelofje Lenos in Terband, (Fr.), Holland, the fifth in a family of 11 children, three of whom survive: Helen (Bill ‘03) Cnossen, Nick (Hilly) Lenos, and Robert (Nancy) Lenos.

She is also survived by other relatives in Canada, Holland and the USA, and in-law, Baukje (Jelle ‘05) Visser. Geeske was married to Wiebe DeVries (‘89) for 47 years. They immigrated to Ontario in 1947, and became actively involved in the Jarvis community and their church.

On their dairy farm near Nanticoke, they raised 7 children: Roelie (Dirk) DeKleine of Caledonia; John (Henrietta) of Watson Lake, Y.T.; Annie (Harry) Bergshoeff of Mississauga; Dick (Elizabeth) of Nanticoke; Arlene (Lambert) Stegeman of Surrey, B.C.; Robert (Lori-Ann) of Townsend; and Wendy (Karl) Weaver of Agassiz, B.C. Geeske was blessed with 23 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren who fondly called her Beppe.

She spent the last 23 years of her life at Parkview Meadows in Townsend, first in Brookview where she made many good friends, then seven 1/2 years in Gardenview LTC where her earthly life ended.

All who have known her feel privileged to have been part of her life, to have enjoyed her warm, loving spirit, her unique sense of humour, and patient endurance in the face of loss or pain. It was wonderful to witness her handiwork, her joy in games, skill with words, and ability to make others smile.

The staff at Gardenview is to be thanked for its excellent, tender care for our mother, whose dying wish was that all her family and friends love Jesus and each other.

Arrangements out of Jarvis. Following a private graveside service and interment, a memorial service will be held at Jarvis Ebenezer CRC on Wednesday, December 17th with her grandson, Pastor Wesley DeVries, officiating.

John is survived by his brother George (Cathy) and sister Penny (late Bob) McCarthy, his nephew Brian (Mary Fleet) Gamble and many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

John lived his life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by many people. John was a member of the Community Living Welland Pelham’s family for over 40 years. He contributed in many ways to this organization, as an advocate, a strong community member and leader. He provided guidance and direction on many aspects of service provision and building strong community connections. His commitment is greatly appreciated.

John’s love of the outdoors led him to become a member of the Silver Dale Gun Club, where he spent many hours with friends involved in gun club meetings, constructing accessible opportunities for him to shoot at targets, both by rifle and bow and arrow and building strong relationships with people who supported his dream. John became a proud member of this club.

A service to celebrate John's life will be held in Welland on Friday, December 19th.

Janet passed away peacefully, at the age of 91 years, after a short illness, on December 11, 2014, at the General Hospital.

Janet was predeceased by her husband Guy Lagasse in 1972.

Loving Mother of caring daughter Anne Myers of Dundas, and her son Charles Lagasse of Halifax, NS. Janet also leaves her grandson Chip MacIntosh of Hamilton, and grandson Michael David of Halifax.

Janet loved bridge and greatly enjoyed her bridge friends of many years.

She worked at Volvo Canada in Halifax for many years and then at the Dundas Library until retirement. She also loved to golf and spent many days at Pinelands Golf Course.

A heartfelt special thanks to Edna Gottfried who was there for Janet this year. Janet appreciated the kind and caring St. Elizabeth workers, Emily, Rachel, Laura, Tracey, Stacy, and Amanda.

At Janet's request, cremation has taken place, and there will be no service.

Janet leaves a void in our lives and will be deeply missed.

Lulic_IrenePeacefully passed away at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the age of 75.

Beloved wife and best friend of Ilija "Willy" for 46 wonderful years.

Irene will be dearly missed by her sisters-in-law Anne Matas (Drago), and Mary Aldona Setej (John). Loving aunt of Christopher (Natalie), Adam, and Michael.

She will always be lovingly remembered by her many god-children. Irene is also survived by her cousins Steve, Liz, Anne and their families.

Arrangements out of Stoney Creek. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 934 Highway #8, Winona on Thursday, December 18th at 11:00 am. Entombment.

If desired, memorial contributions to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

McCLEMONT, Gordon Russell -

1925 - 2014

Was called home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2014.

He will be missed by his wife and best friend Louanne McClemont and their children Tammy McClemont (Steven), Sandra Goodfellow (Stu), Jason McClemont (Becky) and Julie McClemont (Joseph); grandchildren Dylan, Chad, Garret, Skyler, Kirstin, Matthew and Casey.

Predeceased by his parents Robert and Irene McClemont and brothers Raymond (Gloria), Harold (Helen), Clayton, Graham, and sisters Gloria, Gertrude and Diane (Matt).

Gordon Served in the Navy (1942-1945) on the HMCS Timmins and retired from the City of Hamilton Traffic Department (1986).

A special thank you to all of his caregivers who provided love and support, Elizabeth (Bayshore), Tracey (Right at Home Canada), Mary (St. Elizabeth's) and Father Tony O'Dell (St. Patrick's Catholic Church).

Funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 440 King Street East, Hamilton, Wednesday at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Patrick's Heritage Fund would be appreciated by the family.

He will be missed by all his extended family and close friends.

Peacefully passed while at home with his family Sunday December 14th, 2014.

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Joan (nee McLaughlin) and children Pattie (Steve), Ron (Jennifer) and Doug (Melanie).

His Grandchildren Ryan, Nicole, Courtney, Laura, Ian, Andrew, James, Emily and Julia and Great Grandchild Gavin, as well as Brother Tommy, extended family and friends.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic  Church, 1694 Upper James Street, Hamilton ON  Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11:30am. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Chappel_EvelynPeacefully at St. Joseph's Villa, Dundas, on Saturday, December 13, 2014, Evelyn passed away at the age of 95.

Reunited with her beloved husband Allan. Loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother of Mark, Ellen and Connor.

Evelyn was a long-time member of both the Rock Chapel UCW and the Rock Chapel United Church Choir.

Special thanks to the amazing staff of "Cedar Grove" at the Villa, and Dr. Shankardass, for treating Mom with great dignity and compassion, as well as Dr. Cross and the staff of the Village Manor Retirement Home, Waterdown.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Evelyn's Life will be held at ROCK CHAPEL UNITED CHURCH, 451 Rock Chapel Road, Dundas on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. Private Family Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rock Chapel United Church would be appreciated.
