On Tuesday, August 26, 2014 with her family at her side, Mary-Lou lost her battle with cancer.

She is survived by her partner Mike Dwyer and her five children, Corrine (Tom) Comeau, Chad Button, Craig Button (Tanya), Chris (Sammie) Button, David Dwyer, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fondly remembered and missed by her brothers Steven and Donald (Lucy) Marskell, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Beulah Marskell.

Mary-Lou enjoyed volunteering with HWDSB Strings Orchestra and at Adelaide Hoodless Elementary School.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME , 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 12 noon until the time of Memorial Service at 1 p.m.

Konikowski_MarcelliSuddenly but peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday August 26, 2014, Marcelli Konikowski passed away in his 89th year.

Beloved husband for 58 years of Irena Krupinska. Loving father of Beata and her husband Jim Penrice, and Mariusz.

Loved Dziadzia to Ashley and her husband Steve McGaghran, Chelsey and her partner Dave Aikens, and Aaron. Great-grandfather to Kingston. Fondly remembered by his cousins Halina Sidoruk and Irene Urbicka and Diane and Mike Tutka.

Mr. Konikowski was a 40-year member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Polish Alliance for 40 years and a member of the Polish Canadian Seniors Club since 1996.

Marcelli was a retired 18 year employee of Crane Canada.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Ave, Brantford on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment.

She was a longtime member of the Lorelei Singers of Ontario.

Visitation will be held at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1309 King Street East (across from Gage Park at the delta) on Thursday, August 28 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, August 29 at 11 am. Interment to follow.

Daughter of Don and the late Bernice. Mother of Ken Marcille (Hope), Lisa (Frank Osei), and the late Kathy and Sandy Bannister. Much loved sister of Bernice (Pat Martin) and Len Plumtree of Nova Scotia.

Proud grandma of Kiana, Aliyah, Micah, Iyla and Noah.

Will be fondly remembered by nephews Chris, Brad and Adam Martin, niece Lacey (Bill Vine).

Dear brother to Dora (Luciano) Scornaienchi, Nella (Giovanni) Muraca, Rosetta (Luigi) Mattina, Franca Ruffolo and brother-in-law to the late Santo (Concetta) Pecora, Giulia (the late Guido) DiPaolo, Alba (Pasquale) Filice, Anna (Ipolito) DeMarco, Aurora (Giovanni) Bozzo, Romano (Mary) Pecora, and Ottavio Pecora.

He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Juravinski Hospital Ward 3C for their kindness and compassion.

Flaherty_JoeyIt is with heavy hearts we regretfully announce the passing of Joey Andrew Flaherty as the result of a tragic accident on August 25, 2014.

He leaves behind his loving parents Jim and Janice, brother and best friend Jamie, numerous aunts and uncles on both sides (Flaherty and Bundy) and cousins who were near and dear to his heart.

He will be sadly missed by his Grandmothers Anna Flaherty and Greta Bundy.

Joey was previously employed as a student with the City of Hamilton then as a permanent employee with the Town of Oakville in the Public Works Department where he made many wonderful friends. Also remembered by his childhood friends, too many to mention, with whom he enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, golf and poker.

Joey was a ray of light, charismatic, generous and outgoing, someone who touched everyone's heart with his personality and smile that filled the room. He will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME "SWACKHAMER CHAPEL", 195 King Street West, Dundas (905) 627-7452 on Friday, August 29th from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

A funeral service for Joey will be held at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 265 Middletown Road, Flamborough on Saturday, August 30th at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow.

Gayda taught as a teacher in Prince Edward Island and lived in Brantford for many years.

Beloved wife, soulmate, and best friend of Paul Urbanowicz. Much loved mother of Chris (Dana) Drong, and Tiffany Drong. Step mom to Jason (Elaine) Urbanowicz, and Shari (Mike) Cole. Grandmother to Zoe, Falyn, Kennedy, and Millie. Cherished daughter of Dorothy and the late Ross Sager.

Dear sister of Sandra (Tom), Maggie (the late Brian), and Robert (Patty). Susan will also be sadly missed by her aunt Mary, and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Susan was the past curator of Myrtleville House Museum, and more recently the Manager of Tourism and Communications for the City of Brantford for over 14 years, working tirelessly to establish Brantford as a tourist destination in Ontario. Susan enjoyed her gardens as well has helping her husband Paul find that next antique treasure.

A funeral service will be held in Brantford on Thursday, August 28th. Cremation to follow.

January 22, 1920 - August 25, 2014

Jim passed from this world on August 25, 2014.

Jim wrote his own obituary during the 2011 Super Bowl. Dad, in his notes, said he wrote it because he was leery about what his boys would say about him.

He is survived by Larry and Judi, Jack and Linda, Jim and Marilyn, Paul and Lynn, Ron and Annie, the late Randy and Monika.

Also survived by his sister Marguerite Wood (Earl), his brother Carl and Carole, and sister-in-law June Cooper (Vic).

Pre-deceased by his brother Len and sister-in-law Dorothy.

Jim was pre-deceased by two beautiful wives, Mina and Jean. They enjoyed many happy years together.

Thank you to all the Shields and the Knapps for their support over the years. He also enjoyed seeing his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jim was a long time employee of Gillies-Guy (Ultramar).

Thank you to Russ and Gerry Hoffman (Saskatoon) for keeping in touch with me over the last 70 years.

At Jim's request, there will be no funeral service or visitation.

Just say a prayer for me and make a donation to City KIDZ or your favourite charity.

This part was not written by Dad. He was the Greatest Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and friend that anybody could ever have. THANKS.

Special thanks to his doctor, Dr. Richard Packer for having a special place in his heart for our Dad. Thanks to the Nurses and Doctors of St. Joseph's Hospital for making Dad's last couple of weeks comfortable. And thank you Mary!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Stavropoulos on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the age of 86 years at the Greater Niagara General Hospital.

Beloved wife and best friend to the late Basilios (William).

Cherished mother of Christina (Nick) Vaccaro, Elenitsa (Luigi) Stranges and Eva (Andy) Fortuna. Loving grandmother of Mariya Fortuna-McGregor (Bryan), Nicholas Fortuna, Nicholas Vaccaro, Vincent and Victor Stranges, Victoria Vaccaro and her god-daughter Dr. Marie Bountrogianni.

Predeceased by her siblings Dionisia Sarantopoulos (Ioannis), Konstantinos, Efstathia, Dimitrios Pantazopoulos (Eleni), George Pantazopoulos (Stella), Alexandra Chronopoulos (Stathis), Dionysios Pantazopoulos (Argiro) and John Pantazopoulos. Also predeceased by her parents Eleni and Panagiotis Pantazopoulos of Petalidi, Messinias, Greece.

Sister-in-law of Anna Marsh (Walter), Vasiliki Spiropoulos (Christos), Tom Stavropoulos (Stavroula), Spiros Stavropoulos (Anthoula), Dimitra Ladas (Ioannis), George Stavropoulos (Eleni) and Konstantinos Stavropoulos. Maria will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Greece, Canada, U.S.A. and Australia. She was loved and cared for by her very special friend and companion Jackeline Santiago.

Maria emigrated from Greece to Hamilton on the Nea Ellas in 1954. She and her husband, William, owned and operated their restaurant The Villa Terese until their retirement in 1986. Maria loved travelling to her village in Greece and spending time with her grandchildren recounting stories from when she was a young girl.

Yiayia Maria will always be remembered for her wonderful baking and cooking skills, her quick wit and ability to spontaneously compose poetry. She was a caring and generous woman who always extended help to those in need. As a very independent and strong –minded woman, Maria loved to jump in her red Honda Civic and seize the day.

Arrangements out of Niagara Falls. Funeral service in honour of her life will be held at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara Street, St. Catharines on Friday, August 29th at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow.

Terry was a 50 year member of the CWL, and an avid member of both St. Margaret Mary and Blessed Sacrament choirs.

She was very proud of her family, particularly her precious grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (20 Idlewood Ave, Hamilton). A family burial will take place in New Brunswick.

She will also be missed by Linda Bertrand-Tisdale (Brian), her cherished friend Gemma Defelice, Vera’s extended family and friends.

We would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nurses and staff at Arbour Creek – Hawthorne House 3rd floor. The care and compassion which you provided our mother made us feel as if she was your mom too. There are no words to express how truly grateful we are.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Vera’s life will take place at a later date. Arrangements out of Stoney Creek.

She will forever live on in the hearts of her brothers; Jack (Anita), Dan (Joan), sister Betty "Elizabeth" and sister in law Yvette.

Predeceased by her devoted parents Anne and Walter Rankin, brothers and sisters; Walter, Mary, Anne, Bernard and William.

Helen will also be sadly missed by all her cherished cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visitation at the MARKEY- DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.

Funeral Mass will take place from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday August 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Interment.
