Passed peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on November 19, 2014 at the age of 81.

He is survived by his devoted wife Margaret, children Joe Vukan (wife Sharon), Mayda Waind, and Roger Vukan. Grandchildren Rebecca and Sarah Vukan, Alex and Jordan Waind. Sisters Sarika Nagy and Margita Skrilec (in Slovenia).

Special thank you to all the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic, and the Juravinski Hospital (C3 Oncology and ICU wards).

As well, many thanks to the Cancer Assistance Program volunteers, and the overwhelming support of family, friends, neighbours and Minister Greg White.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 24th at St. Andrew's United Church, 479 Upper Paradise Rd., Hamilton followed by service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the 'Cancer Assistance Program, Drive and Ride'.

Beloved husband to the late Mariam (Elliott).

Loving father of Margaret, (Jeff), Allan (Kim), Carolyn (Garry), Ronnie, Richard (Sandra), Murray (Deborah) and Glen. Predeceased by his son Gary. Dear grandfather to 11 and great grandfather of 15. Also survived by his brother Lawrence.

Venie was a veteran of WWII, and served as a member of the Royal Canadian Engineers.

Funeral service will be held in Caledonia on Friday, November 21st at 11 a.m. Interment.

Gammon_NormaIt is with great sorrow, that the Gammon family announces the passing of Norma on November 18, 2014 at St Peter's Residence at Chedoke in Hamilton in her 88th year.

She was a loving wife to Don (2013) for 65 years.

Loving Mum to Mike (Danita) Gammon and Linda (Ivan) Cvetanovic, and beloved Grandma to Allie (Owen) Hughes, Laura Gammon, Lily Cvetanovic and Eva Cvetanovic.

Norma was predeceased by siblings Eileen and Phyllis.

Coming to Ontario from Nova Scotia in 1948, Norma was a homemaker and a breast cancer survivor.

Special thanks to the caregivers at the Hamilton General Hospital and the special people who work at St Peter's Residence at Chedoke for their compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place and at Norma's request, no visitation is scheduled.

Beloved husband and best friend of Jane (nee Elliot) for 37 years. Loving father of Lisa (Matthew), Angela (Andrew) and Trevor (Jacqueline). Cherished grandfather of Ezra, Valerie, Matthijs, Meredith, Isla, Stuart and Hadley.

Sadly missed by his siblings, Joyce, Betsy, Carol (Cliff), Marion, Kathy (Tom), Helen, Kathy (Danny) and Jackie, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Trevor and Shirley, and sisters, Guyletta and Peggy.

Bam was an employee of National Steel Car and recently retired after 35 years of dedicated service. Bam was a devoted family man, but also treasured his Mazda RX-7 and enjoyed restoring old cars in his spare time.

A celebration of his life to take place on Friday, November 21st in Stoney Creek. Interment to follow.

Shirley was a lifetime member of Shenstone Baptist Church.

Predeceased by daughter Brenda Broughton, granddaughter Diana Wallace and grandson Jamie Linn.

Dear sister of Thomas Conrick (Lillian) and Audrey Foster (Gordon). Predeceased by brother Frank Conrick and by sisters Norma McComb, Vera Miller and Lorraine Steimle. Also missed by nieces and nephews.

June served in the Second World War as a Wren and was a longtime member for 57 years of the Women’s Auxiliary of Dunsdon Legion 461.

The funeral service to celebrate June’s life will be held in Brantford on Saturday, November 22nd, followed by cremation.

Passed away at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the age of 77 years.

Beloved husband of Miriam (nee Paul) for 54 years. Loving father of Margo (Chris) Merritt and Scott (Tammy Graham). Proud grandpa of Brendon, Kellan, Colton, Connor, Maddison and Graham.

Cherished brother of Marilyn (the late Ray) Steele, Dorothy (the late Ron) Barber and Sharon (John) Sharp. Much loved brother-in-law of Ron (Marilyn) Paul. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Dorothy Sutcliffe.

Gordon obtained his Pilot’s License at the young age of 15, and so began his love affair with flying. He later became a commercial pilot where he was able to travel the world. He loved telling stories and jokes, and also enjoyed cooking. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends at the cottage on Beaver Lake.

The family will receive friends at the Church of the Nazarene, 347 Fairview Drive, Brantford on Monday, November 24th from 1- 2:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.

Donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Diabetes Association.

Zavitz_Ron(June 2, 1939 - November 18, 2014) - It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Ron is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife Shirley (nee Thorpe) of 54 years, and his children Steven (Janet) and Allison. Ron was blessed with a wonderful grandson Brayden, who will always remember his Papa with great fondness.

He will also be greatly missed by his brother Robert (Sharon), special aunt Beatrice Pettit, sister-in-law Beatrice, brothers-in-law Denzil, John, Brian, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Ron was a man of great faith, serving as a devout member of both Ancaster Baptist Church and Chedoke Presbyterian Church. Ron was highly respected throughout his 36 year teaching career in Hamilton, retiring as a devoted secondary school principal.

Reunited with her beloved and devoted husband of 56 years Conrad (2006).

Her strength until the end proved how much she loved each and every one of her nine children: Noella (Denis), Giselle (Allan), Dorice (Christine), Maurice (LaGaylia), Carmen (Gerard), Anne-Marie, Rita (Denis), Diane (Paul) and Denise (Randy). She was the best "Mémère" to her 17 grandchildren and their spouses, her 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Predeceased by her infant daughter Yvonne Ginette.

Madame to the many school children she met after years as a crossing guard at Ecole elementaire Notre-Dame.

Born and raised in Edmundston, New Brunswick. A hero to many and a friend to all, She will be so dearly missed by her sisters Therese Morin, Camilla Perreault, brother Mike Martin and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

DeLong_MonaAge 94, of Oakville, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, November 17, 2014.

She was born to the late Earl and Amy Moorcroft, June 11, 1920 and lived in New Brunswick as a child. Madeline graduated from Hartland High in 1937 and graduated from Teachers College in 1939. She married the late Basil Earl DeLong in 1942, and they lived in Lakeville, NB, before relocating to Brantford, ON in 1949 and then in 1955 moved to Oakville, ON.??

Madeline taught grades 1-9 in a one room school house in Lakeville, NB. She had a passion for teaching children either at school or at church.?Madeline was an active member of Central Baptist Church while in Brantford.

After moving to Oakville Madeline and her husband Basil were founding members of Faith Baptist and then Winnett Memorial Baptist which later became Chartwell Baptist.

She loved to cook and bake, her donuts were a treat everyone looked forward to. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place. Madeline had a passion for missions and serving. You could find her in the kitchen at church, or in the Sunday School Class teaching, or doing projects for missionaries. In her later years she helped organize Seniors activities at church. ?When she wasn't busy helping others she would quilt, knit or sew?usually to make things to bless other people.

Madeline is survived by three children: Ann Marie Hazel, Douglas DeLong and Brian DeLong. She also is survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.??

Funeral service will be held in Oakville on Thursday, November 20th.  Reception to follow at the Post Inn Village.

Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Grimsby surrounded by his loving family.

Cherished husband of Jean for over 70 years. Beloved father of James (Isabel), Thomas (Pauline), Ruth (Matthew) and the late David.

Loving Papa of Emily, Peter, Billie-Jean, Ian, David, Elaine, Emily, Franki and the late Jesse. Great Grandpa of Heather, Elizabeth and Lucia.

Rev. Duke was blessed to be a minister in many different communities and was privileged to retire from St. John’s Presbyterian Church in September 1986. After his retirement, he served as Interim Moderator at Roxborough Park Church.

Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 10 Mountain Street in Grimsby on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Passed away peacefully, in his 88th year, Don Harrison.

Most beloved and devoted husband to Mary (predeceased 2013). Most loved father to Brian (predeceased 1999). Beloved father-in-law to Susanne, and stepfather to Rhoda, Janet (Dave), Ilka (John), Gina (Brian).

Loved and cherished Baba to Matthew (Kerri), Kristen and beloved great-grandfather to Dylen and Ethan. Cherished grandfather also to Alex (Zoe), Esther (Dan), Ivey (Aaron), Louisa, Gemma and Siobhan and most loved great-grandfather to Levi.

Dearly loved brother of Lois (Al), brothers, George, Albert, Jack and sister Grace (all predeceased). Don will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Don was a wonderful, kind, generous man, with a great sense of humour and fun. He was involved in various charitable organizations over the years, giving freely of his time to his Rotary Club, Hamilton Mountain (past President, Paul Harris fellowship award), Junior Achievement, and to his church, First Pilgrim United.

He loved his interaction with the Tiger-Cats, booking half time shows for many years and remained a Tiger-Cat fan to the end. He sat on several boards and committees and ran a successful business, D.C. Harrison & Associates, with his wife Mary in downtown Hamilton, helping countless people achieve their career goals. He made family occasions fun, getting into the spirit of Christmas and birthdays with his own unique style and right up to the end, would still try and make us laugh.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff, nurses and PSW's at Grace Villa and to our family friend Kathy North for her continued care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially Angelo and Marylene Falco and family.

Giuseppe was a man of dignity and respect. He was a hard worker and dedicated his whole life to his family and those who he loved.

She will also be fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Doris Marshall, her brother-in-law Paul Marshall and his wife Ellen, her special friends Lil and Bud Adams, her nieces and nephews Michele, Jennifer, Will, Stephanie, John, and Merlene, and many other family members and friends.

Chris's greatest joy in life was her family and friends, and she was actively involved for over 55 years with Girl Guides of Canada.

PARRY, Graham -

Born August 3, 1951, County of Hawarden, Wales – Died November 17, 2014, Hamilton, Ontario.

It is with peaceful hearts that we announce the passing of our father and brother after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

Graham had a passion for music, especially playing the drums, cars, NASCAR racing, CFL football and a good laugh.

Graham is survived by daughter Michelle, son Michael, three grandchildren, his sisters Elaine (Jim), Pauline (Scott), Julie, Trish (Peter) and brother Ian (Jenny) along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graham was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Irene and brother Keith.

At Graham’s request, a private memorial will be held with his family.

The family wishes to thank the outstanding group of healthcare workers at St, Peters Hospital who provided constant care and understanding during a difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Graham can be made to An Instrument for Every Child, or the Canadian Cancer Society.

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of John, who died peacefully on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 in his 68th year after courageously dealing with ALS.

Beloved husband of Kathie for 44 years, loving Father of Jo-anna Goyit (Robbie), Susan Reansbury (James Robinson), and Christa Cox (Stephen), loving Papa of Chace and Ciaran.

He is survived by his sisters Peggy and Theresa, his brothers Mike, Dave, George, and Andy, and predeceased by his sister Pat.

He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

John faced his all challenges with dignity and courage, he was kind and supportive to everyone he knew even in his most difficult times.

We would like to thank all the PSW workers, the CCAC and the ALS society who helped take care of him and there kindnesses the past few years.

A celebration of John's life will be held at St. Pius X church Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11am. A visitation will be held 10am to 11am followed by the funeral service.

Donations to the ALS society, St. Pius X church or charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Sziklai_KarlAfter a long struggle, Karl peacefully passed away on November 17, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in his 89th year.

Loving husband of the late Anna Marie. Cherished father of Hilde Martin and Anne March (Barclay).

He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Chris (Jen), Ryan (Jill), Kyle (Kristina), Valerie, Kevin (Rachelle) and great grandchildren Aidan, Heather, Kaitlyn and Alice.

Karl is survived by his sisters and their families in Hungary.

Special thanks to St. Joseph’s Nephrology Department for all their compassionate care.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Stoney Creek. Interment to follow.

Passed away at home on November 16, 2014 in her 85th year.

Predeceased by her son, Andrew.

Dear wife of Dr. John Ashworth, and loving mother to Dominic, Stephen, and Timothy.

She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, family and friends.

Survived by her brother Colin, and sister Patricia.

(1921 - 2014) - Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16th, 2014, at the Hankinson House of the Stedman Community Hospice.

Beloved husband of the late Ruth Atfield (nee King).

Predeceased by his sister-in-law Dorothy Fulton.

At Roy's request, cremation has already taken place. Arrangements out of Brantford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, on Thursday, November 20th, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at a later date.

Beloved husband of Bronia (nee Pasterski) for 67 years.

Loving father of Elizabeth Trutwin (Gerald), Christina Poper (Alexander) and Susan Ellement (Kenneth). Cherished Dziadziu of Luke, Jennifer, Laura, Frank, Nick, Michael, Kathleen, Theresa and Great-Dziadziu of Hudson and Claire.

Antoni was a Millwright at Stelco with 36 years of dedicated service.

Special thanks to St. Peter's at Chedoke and St. Joseph's Hospital for their exceptional care.

Visitation at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1309 King Street East (opposite Gage Park, at the delta) on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Polish Roman Catholic Church, 8 St. Ann Street, on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 9 a.m. Interment.
