BOTTOS, Mario -
With his wife Alberta (Fabello) of 55 years at his side, Mario passed away peacefully on May 17, 2013 at Emmanuel House.
He will be missed by his children, Joe (Laurie), and Maurice as well as his grandchildren, Alessia, Stephen, David, Nicholas, and Kristian. He will be sadly missed by in-laws, Carolyn Fabello, Gino Fabello, and Rosa Maria Tomini. Also missed by his many nieces and nephews including, John, Nathan and Benjamin Fabello. He is survived by his brothers, Italo, Domenico and sister Maria.
Mario never had the chance to pursue much education but, that lack of opportunity never diminished his appreciation for education, nature and science. He wished for his body to be donated to McMaster medical school so that others may learn and help solve the mysteries of disease.
He was a member of the Famee Furlane Club in Binbrook, The Venetian Club and the Alpini Club of Hamilton.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 416 Mohawk Road East, Hamilton.

Peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, May 17, 2013.
Cherished daughter of the late Oreste and Francis Marini.
Dearly loved mom of Patricia, Nancy and Suzanne. Best friend of Steven Buntin and grand-mother of Carolyn Tilstra (nee Buntin) and her husband Issac. Survived by her siblings Doris Woods (Eddy), Roy Marini (Tina - deceased), Henry Marini (Fran) and by all her in-laws Val Marini and family and Betty Marini and family.
Predeceased by her brothers Remo and Jerry.
Delia will be truly missed by her beloved cat Alice and by Suzanne's dog Rajah.

Much loved grandmother of Dwayne (Karen), Jolene, Erica (Lonnie), Kevin, Briana, Kyleagh, Andrew, Cameron, Lorissa, Madison, Chad and Sara. Great-grandmother of Emily, Liam and Piper.
Predeceased by her husband, Douglas John, in 1983.

Passed away at the Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends on Friday, May 17th, 2013, at 52 years of age after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Rosemary. Loving father of Michael and Daniel French.

Peter will be lovingly remembered for his devotion and passion for his family, fishing and lacrosse.

The family of Margaret Josephine Lazenby (nee Fullerton) sadly announces her passing at the Brantford General Hospital on Friday May 17, 2013, at the age of 89.
Predeceased by her husband Reginald, daughter Marian, and brothers and sisters George, Frank, John (Jack), Helen, Gladys and Violet.
Margaret is survived by her brother Edward (Ted) Fullerton and his wife Grace, sisters-in-law Mary Smith and Elizabeth (Betty) Fullerton, and lifetime friends Joyce Schroeter and Jean Andrews.
Margaret's gracious personality will be greatly missed by her son Keith Lazenby and his wife Sharon of Brantford, son Bruce Lazenby and his wife Mary of Waterdown, granddaughter Kimberly Post and her husband Jeff, grandson Adam and his partner Jess, granddaughter Sheryl Baptiste, grandson Jason Christo and his partner Crystal, and great-grandchildren Holden, Makenna, Calla, Amelia, Adam and his partner Kelly, Breanna, and Letitia.
Margaret's family will always be grateful for the incredible care and comfort shown to her by the staff of St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, especially those on Chestnut Court, Dr. Spicer, Jacquie Daymond-Lund, and the staff of the Brantford General Hospital's Coronary Care Unit.

McDOUGALL, George 'Joe' -
Suddenly after a short illness at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on May 17, 2013. Joe, formerly of Flesherton, at the age of 87.
Joe was born in St. George, New Brunswick where he grew up and worked as a carpenter until he moved with his family and worked at Ford Motor Company (Oakville) until his retirement in 1985. He spent his retirement years in Grey County (Ontario) enjoying many years of following his passions of gardening, landscaping and his love of music and films.
The family thanks all the staff at Wentworth Heights Long Term Care Residence in Hamilton, Ontario for their care, both physical and emotional, over the past few years.
Joe was predeceased by his youngest son, John, two granddaughters Kim and Becky as well as 5 brothers Harry, Charlie, Donny, James and Gordon and 3 sisters Edith, Betty and Lilian. He is survived by his former spouse Minnie McDougall, daughter Laura Serrick, son Eugene and a large family including grandchildren Jamie Serrick and Daniel Serrick, Paul McDougall, Todd McDougall and Deanna McHugh, 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, brothers Dick and Paul and his sister Evelyn.
A memorial service will be held at Appleby United Church, (4407 Spruce Ave., Burlington) on June 8th at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place and Joe's ashes will be laid to rest at the McDougall family plot in New Brunswick.

Beloved husband of the late Irene Pearl Blore, nee Shelton (2010).
Adored father of Lynda and the late Larry McDonald, Cathy and the late Bob Krueger, Jim and Gail Blore, Don and Cori Blore, Nicole Blore, Sandy and Terry Alyman, and Kelly Blore. Loved grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Russell is survived by his sister Betty Best and sisters-in-law Jen Blore and Jean Blore. Also remembered by his lifelong friend Victor Best and his wife Mary.
Russell was a veteran of WWII, serving with the Royal Canadian Navy in the North Atlantic aboard HMCS Frontenac from 1943 - 1945.

Peacefully passed away on May 16, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Marie-Claude was the beloved wife of the late Drago Kenderic and the much loved mother and mother-in-law of Steve and Anne of Hamilton and Bernadette and the late Boris Maruna of Zagreb Croatia. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Adrian, Claudia and Katrina Kenderic (who she adored). She is survived by her sister Annette and her sisters-in-laws, Denise and Marie all in France and her sister-in-law, Ankica in Croatia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in both France and Croatia. She is predeceased by sister Renee and brothers Michel and Louis.
Marie-Claude Travers was born in Moutiers, France on May 3, 1928. She was a French teacher for many years for the HWDSB.
Mimi will be fondly remembered by her friends, especially by the Viegas & Kucic families. Kuma will be also missed by the Mehes family. Meme was thankful for her extended family of Martez, Natalie, Matt, Liam, Tara, Matt, Paul, Vicky, Jessica and Torey.

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in her 86th year.
Dearly beloved wife of the late Henry L. Thaler.
Bess was the only child of the late Murray Dayman and Vera Reichert. Loved sister-in-law of Eleanor (Mrs. John Marinaccio) and cousins Phillip Reichert and Ralph Reichert.
Cherished friend of Larry and Cheryl Hotte and dear Auntie Bess of Sarah, Jonathan, Jenny and Caleb.
Bess was entirely devoted to teaching children for 35 years with the Brant County Board of Education, ending her career with the “Teacher of the Year” award in 1988. Teaching little children was her passion in life.
We wish to thank St. Joseph’s staff, nurses and Dr. Hadley for taking Bess under their wing and treating her as part of their caring family.
Funeral service will be held in Brantford on Tuesday, May 21st. Bess will be laid to rest beside her beloved Henry at a private family interment.

VERE, Gary -
Finally at peace in body and soul, Gary has left us on May 16, 2013 in his 70th year for the rainbow bridge to meet up with his beloved kitties Muffin and Buffy. Together they'll make their journey into eternity.
Gary will be dearly missed his best friend and wife of 26 years, Midge Vere and his step-sons David Carter (Jeannie) and Richard Carter (Rhonda) and grandchildren, all from Alberta.
Son of the late Pearl and Floyd Sr. Brother of Rocco, David, the late Floyd, and the late Victor. Missed by nieces Janice, Maria, Nancy, Patricia and Phyllis and nephew David Jr.
Gary was an auctioneer and drove taxi for 33 years total for Veteran's and Blue Line, making many friends and acquaintances along the way. He loved a good game of pool and was very good, winning several trophies in his younger years.
Special thanks to Bayshore Nurses Maureen M. and Katarina G., thank you for your compassion and excellent care of Gary and thanks to Emmanuel House for your attentive care, making the last 9 days of Gary's life comfortable and very pleasant, thanks so much for the lovely quilt.
Many thanks also to Aunt Marion and cousin Paul and other members of Midge's family, you know who you are and thanks to sons David and Richard, for your daily phone calls and support during this trying time.

WILSON, Mary Anna -
Mary Anna Wilson of Stoney Creek, Ontario, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 86 on Thursday, May 16, 2013, with her family by her side.
Anna was born on October 27, 1926 in Jarvis, Ontario in the same room her father was born in on the family farm. She grew up in Simcoe and Hamilton, Ontario, and spent one year in Buffalo, NY, where her brother Ray was born.
Anna married her school-girl crush, Reg Wilson, on September 20, 1947. Anna is predeceased by Reg, and survived by their four children - Susan (Brian) Burditt of Whitby, ON; Marsha Jacobs of Picton, ON; Daniel Wilson of Hamilton, ON; and Mark Wilson (Leslie) of Toronto, ON - as well as eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Anna was active in Girl Guides for many years with her good friend Connie Welbourn. She spent many a day on marches and at Camp Selkirk. Anna was an avid swimmer and spent many summers on life guard duties. She taught most of her grandchildren to swim and dive in the backyard pool on Stewartdale Ave.
Anna was an avid Salvationist at the Argyle Corps for many years and later at Winterberry Heights. At the age of 41 she went to teacher's college, at the same time as her son-in-law Brian. She taught school until her retirement, after which she and Reg began wintering in Florida.
As a grandmother she loved family get togethers, and was always the centre of activity for family outings, be it a picnic or a backyard barbecue. Every Christmas she loved to roast the turkey for her growing, extended family.
Arrangements out of Stoney Creek. The Funeral Service will take place at the Winterberry Corps, Winterberry Dr. and Stone Church R., Hamilton, on Monday, May 20th at 1 p.m. Interment in Hamilton, on Tuesday, May 21st. Anna's grandchildren (Matthew, Andrew and Rebecca Burditt; Melissa Jacobs; Josh and Amanda Wilson; Quinn and Mitchell Wilson) are honoured to be her pall bearers.

Passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, May 16th, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the age of 102 years.
Predeceased by Willson, her beloved husband of 55 years; and by her great friend Ross Knechtel.
Mother of Murray (Ann), Don (Harriet), Ken (Mary), Martha (Sepp Thoma), and Hartley (Kathleen). She was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren; Steven, Michael, David, Sarah, Simon, Jennifer, Jonathan, Suzanne, Christian, Claire and Elizabeth. Proud great grandmother of eight.
Helen grew up on a farm near Caledonia and remained deeply attached to that community. She raised her family in Toronto, then lived 45 years in Guelph, including 24 years in the Elliott Community, where she treasured many friendships.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Retirement Plus for their enthusiastic and loving care.

She enjoyed life with her family and friends. In her healthier years, she loved socializing and dancing, as often as she could.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Brantford.

Died peacefully at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Fred Sindrey.
Loving mother of Donald (Darlene), Robert (Joanne) and David (Gail). Cherished grandmother of Suzanne, Angela, Jane, Robyn and Russell and beloved Great-Grandmother of Ethan, Kaitlin, Austin, Colin and Taya.
Survived by her brother Gord (Irene) Reise and predeceased by her brother Bill Reise.

February 24, 1964 - May 15, 2013
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Antonia “Nancy” Sorto after a long battle with cancer on May 15, 2013, in her 50th year.
Most loving wife of Hector for 16 years. Cherished mother of Delmy, Isabella and Matteo. Survived by her siblings Cathy (Joe) Schinella, Mike (Rita) Mamone, Frank (Dina) Mamone, Rosa (Paul) Ligori, and Angelo (Debra) Mamone. Predeceased by her parents Pasquale and Giuseppina Mamone. Missed by her in-laws Humberto (Irma) Sorto, Elva (Osiel) Gomez, Emma (Fredy) Guevara, Jose (Maria) Sorto, Gricelda Sorto, Samuel (Claudia) Sorto and the rest of the Sorto Family. Missed as well by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews from Italy, Australia, Argentina, El Salvador, Canada and the USA.
A Special thank-you to her long-time best friend Angela Giacometti. She is now with her Mom and Dad, her two special angels in Heaven. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Emmanuel House and the Juravinski Hospital for their care and support during this time.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 416 Mohawk Rd. E, on Saturday May 18, 2013 at 11am. Cremation to Follow.

Dear grandmother of Vicki (Gary) Downie, Barbara (Jim ) Whattam, Susan (Blair) McCallum, Greg (Mary) Avdeeff , Jenne (Douglas) Vallance and Adrian Avdeeff. Great -Grandmother of Kelsey, Heather, Stuart, Jesse, Leah, Breanne, Carson, Sadie, Jackson, Gavin, Jocelyn, Sarah. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

(1981), member Rameses Shriners (1958), Charter member Rotary Club of East Hamilton – Wentworth President (1962), Honored with Paul Harris Fellow. President Hamilton Shriners Club (1963), Former Director United Appeal (1960-1965), President Hamilton Thistle Curling Club (1972), Member Ryerson United Church (since 1932) Former Elder, Life member Hamilton Gun Club (since 1966), Member Probus Club of Hamilton, former member Burlington Golf Club (over 30 years).
He was a Duck Hunter & Decoy maker since 1937 made 70 decoys, Former member Tamahaac Club.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff for the excellent care at the Juravinski Hospital.

WOOD, Joseph Fredrick - "Express Condolences"
Born October 17, 1925 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. On May 15, 2013, Joe passed away peacefully, in his 88th year, at home with his beloved wife Ellenor of 57 years.
Dad will be deeply missed by his children Bonita (Ivan) Stergulc, Frank (Silvia) Ray, Gord (Cindy). Grandpa will be sadly missed by Alicia and Vanessa Stergulc, Kyle, Kristen and Corey, Jessica, Amanda, Kevin and Andrea, Eric, Samantha, Brittany and Madison.
Joe will also be missed by his loving sister Jeanne M. Wood (Edmonton) and his sister-in-law Marguerite Wood (Mississauga) and family.
Predeceased by his mother Helen McQuarrie and brothers, Earl and Hubert.
Joe was retired from the CNR with 37 years of service. Joe continued his working life as a Civilian Court Officer with Hamilton Police Services for several years. He was known as "Little Joe" to his friends at The Association. Joe was a 60 year member of the Wardrope Lodge at No. 555, HAMILTON MASONIC DISTRICT C. Joe was also a 20 year volunteer in the wood- working class with Parkview Secondary School.

The family will receive friends at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME , 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford), Hamilton 905-528-6303, on Monday, May 20th from 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m.

Peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 14, 2013 at the Juravinski Hospital, at the age of 86.
Widow of John Barker and Piotr Swioklo. Cherished mother of Irene (Michael) Burke, Paul (Vesna) Swioklo, and John Swioklo. Loving Grandmother of Jimmy, Sandra and Jeffrey Burke, Paul and Vanessa Swioklo and Christopher Swioklo. Sadly missed by great-grandchildren Mason and Liam Burke. Survived by her sisters Jean Staniewski and Helen Zacharawich. Predeceased by siblings Wes Gaidamovich and Phyllis Bernas.
Her passion for gardening will not be forgotten.
