Survived by his loving wife Norma (nee Bates) and three sons, Bob, Steven and Jeff. A fourth son Terry died in 1975.

Doug’s parents, Reg and Bernice Reid passed away a few years ago after living in Tweed for many years.

Doug’s surviving sisters Sharon Prevost and Beverly Erwin are living in Tweed.

Surviving as well are five grandchildren; Chris, Jenny, Valerie, Lindsay and Bradley.

Pearson HaroldPEARSON, Harold John - WWII - Born October 15, 1919, was promoted to glory and into God’s care, peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

Loving husband of the late Marjorie, a special war bride, predeceased by his eldest son, David in 2012, brothers Kenneth and Malcolm and parents Leonard and Grace.

Harold was a member of the 5th Canadian Armoured Division (Signals) and went overseas in November 1941. Harold and Marjorie met at a church function in Farmborough, England near where Harold was stationed at the Mons Barracks. They were married in Dartmouth, South Devon, in June 1945 and returned to Canada following the war.

Kuiper HansKUIPER, Hans - Passed away on March 17, 2017.

Hans was born on November 16th, 1935 in Borne, Holland. He was the 2nd child of 6 siblings. When he was 5, his family moved to Hoogeveen. It was there that his father became a soldier during the war. He did come home occassionally for brief visits. Hans spent 2 years at an Agriculture School learning to become a farmer at the age of 17.

He did this so that he could emigrate to Canada. In 1955 he did just that and traveled by boat to Canada. He realized farming was not for him, and after a few other jobs he found a job as a store clerk and in a few short years became store manager.
